AT&T took something like 66,000 consumer orders and around 40,000 business account orders in the first 4 days of the 4G pre-order, before the system was breached and had to be taken off line. This was about 3 times more than the 3GS debut.
Apple was able to continue the ordering process because the tunnel to At&T was not affected.
Overall, blackberry devices outsell any single brand of phone in any given month for At&T, at a factor of 3 in most months. I get a hand me down iphone every time there is a new one out, I use it mostly as a game device and ipod during my 12 hour transpacific flights. BB is the only mobile device for me right now, as I don't and have not paid a phone bill in over 15 years (and AT&T the whole 15 years and I never had to speak to a CS rep in that time).
