It was very hard to tell the differences between the three. My friend Matt suggested I use a laminated peice of white paper and place it under water to see the subtle changes in blue and well it definitely worked(thanks Matt).

The left side is the Phoenix 14k & the right is the reeflux 20k. These pictures makes the differences obvious.

Do you have a picture with Radium? Are these with just MH or you also have the actinics on?

what a difference. phoenix bulbs are really 20k IMO, i think you will see the same results with the radium bulb. the phoenix will be the bluest of the 3 bulbs.

Ok so this one is for you Cali Reef. I took pictures with the VHO actinics on as well as off.

Right Side(Phoenix 14k), Center(Reeflux20k), Left Side(radium). These are all 250w mogul based bulbs in a Lumenbright Reflector. The Phoenix and Reeflux are using an electronic ballast by Vertex and the Radium an HQI by bluewave. The VHO's are on in the above pics.

Same order as above but this shot is taken with VHO's off.

Some more progress with the tank or should I say tank area....:splitspin At this point I was ready to work on the HRV duct placement as well as finish the open frame that was holding my canopy pully system.

As you can see the frame was built directly above the tank which the pulley system is mounted to. Behind it you will notice a round duct that extends almost past the picture. This is the HRV intake duct. I decided on moving this duct directly above the tank dead center and inside the frame to give it a much cleaner look as well as better proximity to the tank.

Getting there....:splitspin

Done......Much cleaner and will hopefully perform better as well.

Well I finally settled in on my MH bulb choice. I decided on using the reeflux 20k. It gave great pars along with a crisp white with just the right amount of actinic(at least for my taste). Here is a top down look at the canopy.....:splitspin
