Jared....lol....Don't worry buddy I have plenty of stocking space left....As simple and common as they are I still love their striking colors and if they actually learn to live with one another it will be really nice to watch them follow the leader........:sgrin:

I'm with you on this one 100% Thane:spin:, who cares what Jared thinks, and has to say!LOL I do so love the look of a bunch of Yellow Tangs schooling together.
I will definitely be going out your way to see them once they are in the tank.;):spin:
Jared, you know I love you too!:flirt:

Yellow tangs are a gateway fish. First it's yellow tangs, then hippo tangs, then you start with a little colt coral one weekend but it doesn't stay small for long. It starts getting bigger and spreading all over the tank. Then one night you decide to throw in a little xenia "it's cool it waves" but then the xenia gets out of control as well... Where does it end???????

This is what yoda must have felt like when Luke first crashed into the swamps.:fishhit:

Awwww, come on Jared Yellow tangs schooling together look great. I remember when I USE to go to ft, and they would get in a bunch of YT. I could stand there watching them all day long.:)
Wish I had a big enough tank, I'd have a school of them as well.:lol2:

Yellow Tang is a beautiful fish. I don't care how common it is in the hobby. I'll take a yellow over a black any day. Only hobbyists in the know about black tang pricing/availability will be impressed. The casual visitor to your house will go on and on about the yellow tang and never notice the drab looking $500 fish.

A school of them will be awesome.

I'm not saying fill the tank with rare ugly fish. I'm just saying there are better and more attractive options out there. Like a few harems of easily available and affordable anthias $$$$$$$ Yellow tangs are like settling for the easy 5 when you could go home with a 9 or a 10 with a little more work lol.

You guys need to stop hijacking Thane's thread .

It's still a great tank even it it will have some yellow tangs in it.

i agreed with jared lol why only spend $150 on 8 yt when you could have spent $800 and got 8 purple tangs lol or even better dropped 16k and got 8 gem tang's just messing, but then again when my total water volume match's your sump volume i might be worthy, lookin good than, makes colonies look little in a tank that size
