Well its been some time since I updated my pics,,,,and well tank wise it really is quite uneventfull. I had a nasty outbreak from of Marine Velvet which was my own fault. It was that one fish that wow he looks so great...eating and so alert....I think two weeks is plenty in Qt....well that was a big mistake. I lost a couple fish and have trapped a large majority of them out. I still have straglers. What a nightmare to say the least. I also had a nice Ich outbreak as well....so I said what the heck lets take all the fish out of the main display. Fun....fun
Well in the meantime....I have spent some time changing a couple of things around. One of them was the lighting. I decided to go LED. So I took the plunge and went with Aqua Illuminations. 8 Sol Blue units in total. I have six but two were late in arriving...hopefully will have them soon. I put half of them up to cover a 5' X 31" X 30" area....which is exactly half the tank(in length). With a little experimentation I came up with a nice postion for these units that gave me great coverage. At the end of the day these units were mounted parrallel and 13" off the water dead center of the tank(front to back) and 5" apart from one another and a foot from the end of the tank. I am going to test some pars this week. Right now I have them set at 50% white, 50% Blue, and 50% Royal Blue. All I have to say it is really impressive. Only time will tell......some pics

Nice job, the only part I didn't like about the mounting rails was the plastic ends braces which I replaced with aluminum, looks like you did the same. Looking forward to a full tank shot.
