Thanks. I'm looking forward to the PAR readings. When I was using MH/T5VHO I was drawing 7 amps now I'm pulling 2.3 at the current settings which still seems to be too much. I have raised my lights to about 11-12" above from 4".

Okay today I had a chance to play with the Par meter and spent some time with it taking some measurements. Now all this was done with real world readings. Meaning i dint turn my pumps off and i may be off by an inch so dont kill me. I took four levels of readings. Each A/I module is 12" above water line and at 55% power.

6" below water line 315

12" 235

24" 171

28" (sandbed) 105

These numbers are pretty dam good. However, I did notice a wicked drop off of par on the outer edges past 24"(width) of my tank by roughly 100 per reading at the 6" and 12" depth. The 24" and the 28" were not as bad; about 55 less. However with the way my rockwork is setup this has no bearing on my needs. The other thing that was no surprise was the drop off inbetween the modules. It was roughly the same as the width droppoff. However, anything past the 12" depth were very similiar. I assume the optics helped with solving this drop. I am going to play with the units a bit; maybee even raise them up some more. I also now am realizing why A/I recomends one per foot.....:splitspin....this way there is no dip in readings between units,,,or a small one at most. I am going to try raising them to 15" above water and see how the readings are affected. The good part is I have plenty of powere in reserve.

Hello all,
Its been too long since I updated my thread. I had many ups and downs over the past year and was supposed to move as well. However, the move did not happen so I decided to re-build my whole sump/life support system as well as add another tank to the system. I am now in the process of adding the corals that made it back into the system. There is a lot more to the system but this video gives you the general broad strokes of it.
