Okay everyone it has been way too long since I posted here. I have to tell you it has been quite a challenge getting this tank under control. With the size of the system it has many pros and cons which I have found out over the last six months. The pros.. stability in temp, salinity and just about all the parameters. The cons...flow, the amount of time it took to dial in the system, the cost of running a system this size, maintaining it, and last but not least stocking the system so it doesn't look barren...:knockedou. Well 7 vortechs and 2 tunzes later I have the flow under control; 6 cups of high capicity GFO per month, 4 cups of carbon every two weeks, 1 bucket of coralife a month and a $400 lipa bill just for my tanks and everything is looking great..:splitspin Here are some pics...hope you enjoy....Now my pics are not the best so go easy on me.

Sorry it is so far away....its tough getting a full tank shot.

From left to right in my tank....U can see a little more.....

Now all I need is some time.....:)

I like how you left the aquascape very open. In a year or so all those relatively small SPS should grow out nicely and fill the tank some more. Can't wait to see future updates.

Looking great Thane! And thanks for bringing your thread back to life!;) Love all the fish choices my friend.:) I don't envy all the cons!LOL

Thanks Awilda....Yes its been to long....I cant wait to add some more fish. I have been adding very slowly...about 2 fish a month-6 weeks. I am excited about my next addition. 8 yellow tangs will be going in next week.

I always wanted to try this but new It would never work in my other tanks. Hopefully they will like there new home. They are all doing well in Quarantine. They are all roughly 2 1/2" little guys...:wink1:

DEAR GOD! 8 yellow tangs.... wtf Thane, I thought you were cool! 1 yellow tang is bad enough, but 8!?!?!?!? I'd almost rather see a yellow tang crammed in a 40gal than see such a waste of stocking space in such a huge tank. Maybe 8 A. Pyroferus because than they would turn interesting and you don't see them all the time. Maybe you should get a bunch of "Doris" and a few "Nemos" too... I used to think you were cool, man. If I knew it would house 8 yellow tangs I never would have turned you on to this tank. This is like smacking god in the face for giving you a beautiful gift :tongueani.

Jared....lol....Don't worry buddy I have plenty of stocking space left....As simple and common as they are I still love their striking colors and if they actually learn to live with one another it will be really nice to watch them follow the leader........:sgrin:
