I think people try to take advantage of how laid back this site is and then get crazy when they get warned. Try putting a thread like this on RC and see what happens or any of these dumb threads and posts. Ill tell you this much you wouldnt be back on

No. That is all that I have to say. I, me, myself and only moi. You all have your ideas of a perfect site and you are all entitled to those views. I hope all of them come to fruition. Preferably for some they come to fruition with spelling and grammar check. Happy reefing.

oh mehrr gawdd the feel is reallllll.... loll Kathy C is a good admin, she hit me with the infraction and straight up told me not to cuss on here anymore, that's good admininininggg or whatever u call it, I was wrong for doing so. on a side note Dubbs u should just make a fb group for the "Renegade Reefers" and then u and all ur friends don't have to deal w admins, Id join it u guys seem like a cool group of reefers. I will say its cool for the owner of the forum himself to make a post on here on the subject, seems like a reasonable dude.

Twice in the past I have and both were deleted within 2 minutes.
I received a "Timeout" (Seriously? I'm 46) for a post when Jaftica posted his thank you thread to the guys who helped when he was in the hospital for a month. That thread was closed and we were told he should have left a reefer rating instead. Yet threads on being drunk and sport bike antics are left to continue for days at times. I have never gotten an explanation why posts of mine have been deleted. The only communications I have gotten have been when I was told I was hit with an infraction or a timeout such as above. It's the Gestapo attitude of several Mods that I think is more in question here than anything else. And I have more than a few PM's I could post that would CLEARLY show this lack of politeness and attitude.
As far as RC goes at least they aren't selective in their moderation techniques or practices.

Final thought/advice. I received a warning from an Admin stating if I continued I would be banned. And yet when questioned he said he didn't know why just that I would be. Kind of scary if the Admins don't know what's going on no?
This was a basis we used on another forum I was a moderator on and it may do MR we'll to read this over....
1)Never reward a member with a moderation spot just because they have been an active/long time poster. Find other ways to reward good members.
2)Look for warning signs that they might not be a good moderator. Do they get snippy or argue with other members? Are they very opinionated? Do they have an even temper? Have they been ?know it all? posters?
3)Avoid mixing moderators and friendship. When things go bad it?s hard to separate the two.
4)Make sure you have written rules on what the moderator job is and how they are expected to act and make sure the see them BEFORE you make them a moderator.
5)Chose a moderator as if you were hiring an employee. Will they represent you well both on and off the forums.
6)Remove moderators quickly if they are losing a forum.
Some people just take the power trip for personal gain. This quote by another member is so true for this instance:
" Power corrupts...
and absolute power, corrupts absolutely"
Appointing moderators can be a pretty sticky situation if they are biased in such a way that it is destructive rather than helpful.
Moderators who are immoderate and partial are very destructive, damaging users' trust.
You can lose a lot of core/good members when even one mod gets rude/patronising/personal or is clearly editing in a partial or biased way!
Pay particular attention to that last paragraph......

Maybe they should have a few new mods and run this site like RC. Posts like these should be closed since it would turn away current members who make positive contributions to the site. I noticed the trolls post the same type of content, I guess you can't help that.

I think if your not satisfied in one site then by all means find a place where you can be happy, maybe go to an existing forum or create one of your own. Turn it into something positive and surround yourself with like-minded reefers. Who knows it may work out well.

Starting another site will net you a rather surprising response. I won't go into details but lets just say I felt like I had steeped on "Mob" members toes/territory. Something quite a few members had the privilege of seeing via text or PM.
I don't think it was a slow week. What you have is a problem that has been ongoing for quite sometime. Let's just say a "Boil" under the skin. And at some point it's going to pop. Normally threads such as this are IMMEDIATELY dealt w and deleted. That's another issue for another day. Kinda like burying the body so to speak. But this time I think it was missed long enough so that it reached a point where if it was deleted it would look like something was being covered up or proof of the complaint shown. On the other hand
Leaving it up has opened more issues. The proverbial double edged sword.

Let me start out by saying I'm not on here for drama I'm on here to learn and find a good deal every once in awhile.
I think the people on here like this site. I see mostly positive posts and even read most people were happy with the mods except one or two I don't know who they are I don't really care either.
The way I see it the whole objective of this thread is not to call out people but just say, Hey if you have to edit or delete my post or thread please send a pm stating why so they know what they did wrong and don't do it again.

If someone had followed my very basic requests they would have a full featured club forum and financial support.
If you have ever met me it would be painfully clear that I support the idea of independent clubs. Of course if you're a **** about it you won't get anything. In his case he chose the latter and as you can see the results speak for themselves.
You can have your own opinion on this of course, it's not my fault that you were misled.
