it was yellow did not have bulbs nor was it long tipped. it had purple tips. it almost resembled a carpet. it was about 6 inches in diameter. any ideas>>>
i had them growing for years. they are very slow growers in captivity. they were a neat addition but i would not consider them good for large nutrient removal. in addition i would have to add large addtitions of mg evry couple of months. since removing i have not had to add mg....
is it ok to mix vinegar and kalk first and then add water. i have been mixing 15cc of vinegar to 1/2 teaspoon of kalk then adding 1liter of water.
in addition can this mixture be added in the am and pm. i only topoff water in the morning and evening
will this type of solution lower my mg...
the denitrification block is part of there bio rocker set up. it can also be purchased seperately. it is a slab i believe 9x9x4 inches it almost resembles pourous concrete. i have dsb already nitrates have been at 4 ppm for a while my tank is just recovering from a power outage crash...
i gave up and accepted them for the pests they are. i trimmed then the acros would grow in the trimmed area then whoila they would start growing underneath acro branches. killing the acros. i finally had to move my hard coral out of that tank into another. now mushrooms galore. fortunately...
are you trying to completely get rid of all of them or just thin out the forest?
if you are trying to irradicate good luck. i thought i killed all of them then they all grew back with a vengence. only sure way is to remove all rock infested with them...
i think it is woderful that you are willing to learn about this hobby and take some control. some people would rather pay a service to do all the work. thats when a tank becomes another object of wealth. kudos to you for your willingness to learn....

bubbles have been forming for about a week. started when temps got high from heat wave in my area. system is definately not spewing bubbles into tank. these bubble seem thicker than a regular air bubble and more clingy. thanks for the help so far....
yes they are bubbles, but they are sticking to the corals instead of floating around. in addition they are irritating some of the corals and a brown mucus is forming...
