curious if anyone may know what it is.
it was yellow did not have bulbs nor was it long tipped. it had purple tips. it almost resembled a carpet. it was about 6 inches in diameter. any ideas>>>

Sounds like maybe a Sebae anemone,, Heteractis Malu

I've seen a sebae with those colors at my LFS,, they swore it wasn't dyed.

Heteractis crispa perhaps. It's more commonly imported then H.malu. The really bright yellow ones are usually dyed, often times making their survival poorer :(

Yeah, I was gonna say that I've never seen a naturally yellow sebae.. :|

it was as yellow as a yellow crayon. it looked kind of add thats why i stayed away from it. would have been realy nice if it was for real....

Unfrotunately, it sounds dyed.Sebaes usually have an off-yellow color t the tentacles, usually even tannish in color. ive never ever seen or heard of one like that. :| :(
