Ok I've run exculisevly LEDs on my 75 gal sps tank for a little over a year! I have 1 bed room coop so the mh where too hot only had them matter of weeks was worried about fire and my air was on 24/7 ! Can LEDs grow sps yes with out a doubt they can I've done it can the grow beautiful colored sps I think that my sps look great ! That being said if it was as pratically too run mh I would run them all yr long with led supplemental !

I really dont want to involve ppl into this that dont want there name out there but I know 1 really big vendor that goes to the swap and they have leds and I also know another 2 vendors that will be at the swap that also uses leds, ask the vendors at the swap and you will see. I am not taking anything away from T5's cause I do love those bulbs or MH they also grow coral real nice Im just saying that Leds will be the wave of the future for this hobby if it has not alrdy started

i think leds are the wave of the future too but i really think its going to be a couple years before they master it maybe by then i too mit be running leds lol like i said if you have lps, mushroms, etc etc etc i think leds are great but i really dont think they are there for sps yet
If that's what you truly believe, then why bash them? Someone has to be the lab rats and get the kinks out. I haven't been in the hobby long enough to see the introduction of T5s into reef aquaria. But I'll go out on a limb and say it wasn't perfected immediately. Wonder how many phosphor tubes were broken in the process so you can say "T5 4 Life!" :scratchch
