I hear what everyone is sayin about what he said. But let's look at the bright side, this major event has happened and my family is just rested noe that it has been done. The armed forces do not get enough credit. But the dead is done and what was said can not be taken back.

I am glad that you and your family can feel a little more at peace about it. Anything I said was not meant to diminish that in any way. I would imagine that almost everyone on Manhattan Reefs was greatly affected by 9/11, including myself. I just didn't think it was an appropriate time for Obama to indulge in some self congratulating.

i'm not a republican. my first post was that this is great news. this has zero to do with republican vs democrat. it's a victory for anyone that is an american. obama, bush, you, me, everyone. that doesn't mean that it is a good opportunity for obama to campaign. just tasteless to me.

God bless all the brave men and women in our military and our intelligence services who contributed to carrying out the successful mission to bring bin Laden to justice and who laid the groundwork over the years to make this victory possible. It?s a testament to the hard work and dedication of these brave Americans who relentlessly hunted down our enemy.

This is a victory for the American people, for the victims who were heartlessly murdered on September 11 and in Al Qaeda?s other numerous attacks, and for all the peace-loving people of the world.

Nothing Obama said about the intel made much sense, it took 9 months to get troops in a room with Osama and he just stayed there waiting for us? He claimed the intel was presented to him in August and he was still there... He evaded us for almost 9 1/2 years and he was just hanging out? Regardless, this is a great thing for the US and who cares how it happened, dead is dead.

I think that everyone does need to be aware that there will most likely be some attempts at retribution so everyone should keep their wits about them while out in public for now.

Since we started this war we managed to take down almost all of Al Qaeda's hierarchy and now we've eliminated it's head so odds are it won't be as organized and some of those less than fully committed followers wil now see that if we can reach Osama than we won't have a problem finding their cave either. I don't think this will have a positive impact on their recruitment either.

I was surprised when a "Commander in Chief" was said to have done nothing to give the orders of an mission. So former "Commander in Chief" did nothing in the wars he brought us to before. It's all the foot soldiers, correct!!!????? So, we should not hate Hilter, it's his foot soldiers!!!??? Couple former CIA commanders and former Commander in Chief were reluctant to take the responsibility of authorizing the hit when some intelligence points to the where about of the target. As a reminder, the current Commander in Chief personally congratulated the former Commander in Chief of the victory.
