2000 Gallon In wall Aquarium Thoughts and Ideas

Do people not realize this kid is 11teen years old? He's NOT buying a 2,000 gallon tank. He can't even imagine what's involved in sustaining such an ecosystem.

Have you people ever heard of "Trolls" and "Trolling" as applied to forums and/or mailing lists on the Internet?

It comes from the fishing term... you troll by tossing your line out (by posting something outrageous... but not *too* outrageous so people will believe you) and hope someone takes the bait. In the case of these two *anonymous* kids (we really don't even know if that's true) I'm guessing their posts are simply aimed at getting you all worked up. And they've succeeded!!! "Hey, call me when you're ready... Let me know when you want to buy this or that... I know peeps who can help you... etc, etc."

So far the only person who gets it seems to be Triggerman.

Anthony's posts were equally outrageous -- I mean... a 200 gal tank with fish and corals in a 36* temp house... he lost a thou worth of corals, then put the rest in a 10gal tank... wants to buy seahorses now... makes $80 a week at his job... saving up to buy a vortex but can't afford a heater! JESUS! I must say, he did get you guys worked up though... people screaming "stop killing fish!"

Anonimity and this type of crap is the fatal flaw of this type of forum. (I'm not criticizing MR, it's just the nature of the beast.)

Of course it can be done..anything can be done but this person is a young kid not a 40 year old man. I highly HIGHLY doubt this is a realistic thing. Not to mention the time and money that will go into it. We are talking about several hundred thousand dollars between the tank itself which would have to be built on site. The filtration and plumbing which would all have to be done by professionals and it isn't cheap. Then the livestock corals and fish or even just fish. Lighting the electric forget about it. It would be astronomical to run such a system. Alleged millionaires or not I'm not buying it. I'll believe it when I see it.

Listen he is having trouble keeping the 55 gallon tank he has now. And you really think his parents are gonna go for a 50K plus system and have their 13 year old look after it? Kid before you even thing about upgrading to a 75 figure out the problems with your 55. Just 2 weeks ago he didn't even know that he bought a butterfly.

why is everyone saying my fish died if they didnt? i had 2 coral deaths and the temp is 70 degrees which is low but fine. i have a neighbor with a 250 gallon mixed reef and he keeps the temp at 68 and everything is so healthy and growing perfectly fine.
