If anyone on the MR staff wants to meet and discuss this like men, I'm available.

Don't call me out as if I'm some twenty year old, Randy. (I Rb'd you, with no response) No attack, just fact.

Josh, this thread should be closed. I am willing to help out in creating some meet n greet rules if your interested.

The threads are gone. Done. Now time to look forward.

A Reminder of where this thread started:

Many people have asked "What happened to the M&G threads?"

MR has allowed and even sponsored user events in the past. We all like to trade some corals, talk reef, and maybe have a beer or four. We are not going to tell you how and when you organize events, but clearly we need a set of rules around what is advertised in public on this site.

While some people may love the idea of small swaps, they can quickly get out of hand. We would rather have a bunch of events that are well organized and supported by the site moderators and administration than issues with conflicts around events.

I'm sure everyone will understand that we cannot allow all events to take place. There are bound to be conflicts with existing site events, problems with vendors who are not registered on MR, and concerns about who benefits from organizing these activities.

Given these concerns, we are putting together a set of rules (much like the rules that Group Buy organizers follow) to make sure these events are run appropriately and receive the necessary support required.

..and some additional clarification of why this is happening from Post 135 by Prattreef (Randy):

Well, I hope you all can handle the truth. This is all *going on *because certain Meet and Greet organizers have their own *ideas and agendas that are at odds with MR's best interest. When *you have guests in your house and they crap on the rug, you clean *up *the mess. The fact that the guests haven't been *shown *the door is the truly unbelievable part.*

MR folks might like to know that the innocent and aggrieved M&G organizers have been *busy organizing the Meet and Greets into a completely separate club complete with annual Dues and guest fees and a year long calendar of events already planned, *an administrative structure with officers, *a website and who *knows what else. This is of course their prerogative, but maybe, just maybe, people can *understand why this might PO MR just a little bit. And please don't be duped into *thinking that this the only course they could take in response to *MR oppression-- this was planned long before the threads were deleted, *and the deletions were a response, not the other way around.*

Oh, and Harry and all the other wanna be Godfather gangsters, the NY Reef mafia thing was done a long time ago with the title assigned (and nationally recognized) to folks whose contributions to the hobby earned them that status. Some of them even come here from time to time and you ( I'm sure unwittingly) insult them with your lack of respect. Which come to think of it, seems to be a common thread here.

We would like to thank you all for your input.
