I just paid.
Will be bringing along 3-7 high school students from my (revamped) Environmental Stewardship club. We do/care about everything environmental and do community service do help our fellow citizens.

If anyone wants to chat with them about your idea of marine sustainability, what we can do as individuals, etc. just let me know. I have a really good bunch.

One of my buddies (the guy who got me into reefing) is a cop at the NYPD and may or not be able to take off work for the swap... Is there any chance at all on paying at the door for him? He doesn't want to pay for a ticket ahead of time and then get stuck with it if he has to work.

Just want to bring up my question again- is there any chance tickets will be available for guys and gals in uniform who might get off work last minute? With things like Occupy Wall Street going on, a lot of cops have been stuck on overtime... yes, I can read English and I saw "this event will be sold out", I'm just curious if exceptions can be made for reefers who have less flexible commitments.



Also- are there any vendors out there who will have the new Ecotech Radion LED fixtures, or the new Acan "full spectrum" LED fixtures (supposedly to be sold in November) to demo at the swap? This will be my first reefing event, so I'm not familiar with the norms...

Hey kgoldy. Tickets usually sell out, so there usually is not tix at the door. This will be my first swap, but I often see threads of people trying to buy tickets the week or 2 before the swap. People sometimes aren't able to make it, and end up selling their RSVPs, but for the most part these events sell out.

Can't wait. This will be my first swap. Gonna find a suitable cooler and hand warmer packs for the event. Anything else you guys think I will need?

kgoldy, the reason the swap sells out is due to two factors, 1- demand. Everyone wants to go. And 2- Fire Code. Because of the fact that the organizers cannot invite everyone, open ended, because of occupancy limitations, they don't offer day of event tickets.

As stated above, the event will in all probability sell out. Once this occurs, getting rid of a ticket should not be an issue as there are always lots of folks desperate to get in. The campus and fire code regulation part is real and something we need to be very careful about. That said, if your friend buys a ticket, can't use it and can't get rid of it because he is in good faith "on the job" I find it hard to imagine Josh wouldn't refund his admission.

We have no confirmation yet, but we hope to have both Eco Tech and Acan in attendance presumably with their latest and greatest wares to show.
