Just a tip for the first time attenders from what I have seen in the 2 that I went to so far.

All first timers- buy a small cooler bag to fit whatever frags you'll wind up buying. Josh used to have the MR ones that are a great size for the swap, but not sure if he still has any. I bought mine from him a couple of years ago and they were scarce then. You may only go there to look, but you will most likely find something or multiple things you love for a great price, and the vendors will almost always hold it for you till later in the day but once you have the frags in your posession, you're going to need something insulated to keep as close to proper temp until you get home to introduce it into your tank. It is gonna be quite nipply out.

Also, buy some heat packs(skiing hand warmers) to help keep them warm inside the bag, a lot of vendors have some, but they are expensive so I wouldn't rely on vendors for them.

Just my $0.02 to help think of what may have been forgotten by some- after all, a beautiful frag should remain that way and survive the trip, anything we can do to try to assure that can't be bad.

Great tips! Thanks, I would not have thought of that!

We will be selling heat packs at the Registration Table throughout the day to keep your frags warm :)

..we also sell IC Gel :)

I will check with Josh to see if we will have any of the MR coolers available at this swap and we will post that info here.

I really want to check out the Frag Swap I've never been to one before. Is this how you RSVP or do I need to send somebody an email ?

On the first post of the thread - down by the bottom left corner, there is PayPal link and you need to pay to reserve a spot at the swap.

No problem thats what's great about the site, someone will always mention something that we accidentally left off our checklists or just weren't aware should have been on the list in the first place.

Great way to quote National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!

Will be my first swap and I can't wait! Great advice.

Chevy Chase is the man lol. Glad you guys found the advice helpful....Enjoy the swap, trust me you will.

Hey guys so somewhat new to site but I would love to attend this swap! I'll be coming from Texas so need to plan in advance my trip. Who and how do I pay for admission and is there any need-to-know info about the event? Can I be guaranteed entry through this RSVP?

Thanks,
Todd

Texas! Now there is dedication to the hobby. On the 1st post in this thread you will see a link to PayPal so you can pay for the event. Once you have done so , your name will appear in the list of attendees ( also on the 1st post). That is all you need to do. There are no physical tickets. Just show up the day of the event and your name will be on a list at the registration table. If you need more info about the event just ask. If you need info about NYC --places to stay etc. I'd start a separate thread for that. Looking forward to meeting you. Randy ( your swap site host).
