Felix,
Help me out. I have been waiting for these lights now for over a month. I was originally told the wait was due to the voltage difference between Europe and the USA. Then last week you told me it was because you ordered the new Deimos & Phobos along with the Black Python units. (Trying to save on shipping.)
I now read that there was an account mess up.
Do you have a definitive ship date for these fixtures?
As you recall, I informed you that I might wait an extra two weeks for the units,...but I would not wait much longer. These look like great fixtures,....but at this point, a bird in the hand is looking much better than a bird in the bush. If you cannot give me a concrete date,....it might be time to talk about a refund.

90 watts is for the LED's only you still have to include the electronics that drive the LED's and the fans.

This is true to a degree but 50w for the fans & electronics are not realistic.

One of my 120w Lamps are running at 152w at full intensity. Fans should only account for about 5w each. Circuit boards should not account for the other 22w IMO.

But to show the inconsistant values of each lamp, my other 120w module is running at 120w.

Need azazel to chime in on this.

not delivering

the price these guys are asking for the lights is crazy and to be paid and not have them is beyond nuts and everyone that prepaid is even crazier

imagine if its this hard to get the lights after they are paid for

i cant wait to see what excuse will be used when their is an issue with them

good luck

Actually, the prices are not crazy as you put it. What are you comparing the prices to? The only units that you can compare them to are the defunct PFO Solaris units or the Aqua Illuminations units.

Also your statement of warranty issue is way out there on a limb. I have had warranty issues dealt with in a timely manner by the US distributor.

I spoke to azazel about it and he said that you need to take 2 things into consideration:

a) measurment unit - does it have TrueRMS function to collect data correctly?

also, the math is a little bit different than what you are posting and it should as follow:

90 led bulbs at 3.1V * 0.35A = 97.65W leds only. Fans and electronics is about 6W. what you are not taking into consideration is the driver and additional loss on cables.

the drivers used are about 80 to 85% so the math on higher end should be like this: (104x100)/85 = 122W on lower end (104x100)/80 = 130W

i hope it helps.

I will allow Azazel to answer it. I think if you read from tea leafs, personal expirience and what i wrote - i think we can agree that move to macroblock drivers was necessary :)

Rafal,
I am using a Kill-A-Watt meter to measure wattage draw.
122w to 130w is very acceptable but one of my lamps is drawing 152w-153w so that would seem out of specs correct?

120pcs x (3,1V * 0,35A) = 119W + 6W (electronics) = 125W * 84% PSU efficiency = about 148-150W - its pure physics - there is no machine in the world with 100% efficiency :(

As Rafal stated - we have new driver unit, based on macroblock chip - it has better efficiency - about 93%.

Hello Sea2,

We are very sorry that the lights are delayed in the International shipping but I think your comments are unfounded. These units are priced very reasonably. If you ordered a custom 1000 gallon tank from an acrylic tank maker, you would have to prepay a few thousand dollars. A delay in the building of the tank is also a very possible situation. Now we did not forsee this delay in the importation from Poland. But to say that the price and prepaying is absolutely crazy is quite an exaggeration on your part.

Again, we are very sorry for the delay in the arrival of these lights and we hope to get them out to everyone very soon. Thanks!

which program you cant get to work?

a) connection of the lamp to bluetooth

or

b) lamp software?

in any case - i would delete the software from PC, connect the lamp to PC, download and instal the software. anything - just send me PM or email me.

Got it.

They sent me a link for the shipping bill so I can track. They should ship and arrive to Aloha Tropics on Monday 3/1/10. So hopefully they will ship them out to me sometime in the first week of March.

This is to Farris and C2aquarium. I am in no way affiliated with Aloha Tropics, but if you reference the PreLaunch sale thread it was posted a few days ago shipment is slated for next week.

Cheers

i have got my 2 lamps "120Watt Black Phyton" yesterday :yeah:

i have read that the new version "160Watt" would have no extra UV-Leds/Chip, also the 120Watt models . Is that true? Did my 120Watt Version have UV Leds/Chip or just only the older Versions of the 120 Watt Moduls?

greets Michael
