Which Lamp do you have?
The 2009 Pythons with software 3.1 use to allow you to set percentage for blues and whites separately, the 2010 Pythons with software 5.1 only has a slidebar for kelvin temp adjustment which changes the blues and whites accordingly.
I had my 2009 Python's firmware updated to accept the 5.1 software and it was set on a default by Azazel to 18k which I believe is 100% whites and blues. If I recall correctly, the previous software had the kelvin temp at 17k for 100% whites and blues.

thats what you can do with PAR table. you can set a time range from a minute to hrs for 14k (or anything from 12k to 23k) and change it after 1 minute or any time. you have 40 command lines.

Problem to avoid - timing - at least one minute between commands and can not give the PAR table commands during the sunrise or sunset.

5.2 has the extended sunrise and sunset to 180 minutes.

if you download software 3.1 - the old version - it shows the % split and kelvin temp. since people are asking for it - I will try to post the info shortly.

with the new CREE units replacing any burnt LED bulbs is relatively simple. (all CREE units: IO, Black Python, Phobos and Deimos) all you need is metric srewdriver 2.5mm and section to replace the section that has the burnt bulb. during the warranty period - no issue with getting it done. after the warranty - you would need to pay the cost of the section that needs to be replaced.

Basically, I'm just trying to understand if replacing an LED bulb is more complicated than replacing a T5 or MH bulb. I'm guessing, from your reply, that it rather is.

a few things that some of you may have asked:

anodized heatsink with the weight of close to 6lbs for BP 160W allows ideal heat dispersion. The height of the heatsink is 30mm. so 3W led bulb is driven at 3W and not at 1W or 1.25W or 2.25W as other fixtures.

Anyone have photos they can post showing results? I know Led's can grow corals, so I am particularly interested in coral colour - do they produce the awesome colours I have seen produced by T5's?

As far as we know, there is a contract now signed between Cree and Pacificsun for exclusivity. Cree will now be supplying Pacsun with 1.5W CREE bulbs for 1W Units. Pacsun is now working on integrating those bulbs into the original 120W units.

Will there be any way for us original owners to get the firmware upgrade...I have the 90W EX Python and went to NJ once to fix the high pitched whine problem...can't make it back there from Westchester to get the firmware upgrade

Just courious i am running a intel imac version 10.4.11 with 1 gig of ram, what is the best program to download so i can run the bluetooth application of the lights on my mac?? will there ever be a software version of these lights for the mac????

Mac - Leszek is VB guy so Windows is the program of the choice. I have talked to them in the past about it, but they can not find the right person to prepare for Mac.

If you own the Mac - you need to download and install program called Virtual Windows and than run the app.

Gosh i could really use some help here, iam a mac user and purchased these lights 1 mater 160w cree and 2 slaves, i would really like to be able to use the bluetooth feature but being a mac user i cant figure it out. i downloaded a program called parallels desktop that lets you run windows programs on a mac, is there a way to install the software of the pacific lights onto this program?? it looks as tho i have to purchase a windows xp disk in order to install the pacificsun software. is there a way to bypass this???? i really wish pacific sun thought of us mac users and developed software for us mac users to use the booth tooth function with these lights. iam very frustrated. any help would be great

Robbus, if you have a friend with laptop, ask them to bring it over. You cane set the light however you want and won't need it unless you want to make changes to your light cycles. This can hold you over until they develop a mac version. Otherwise, I believe you can purchase a little netbook online for pretty cheap.
