I got my pair of Pacific Sun Pythons from Gareth Dominy at Progressive Reef in Canada by way of Michael Hall at Aqua Digital (also in Canada). I've also had several e-mail exchanges with Przemyslaw Cybulski (
[email protected]) at Pacific Sun in Poland whom I reached via their web site
www.pacific-sun.eu.
I've had a problem with my master unit that appears to originate with the driver (1/2 the blue LEDs won?t light). Normally the fixture would be sent back to the manufacturer in Poland for repair under the warranty. Given that it (and the slave unit that runs off it) is the only source of light for all my tank inhabitants I couldn?t afford to be without light for that long,
Przemyslaw and I discussed the problem and he came up with a great idea. I opened the unit, took photos of the internal components and their part numbers and e-mailed them to him. Przemyslaw, Mike and Gareth then coordinated to get a replacement driver shipped in from Poland for me.
I have yet to install the new driver so I don?t know if it will resolve the issue, but I?ve found Pacific Sun, Aqua Digital and Progressive Reef to be very sincere in their dealings and feel they have all provided good customer service, (and Pacific Sun even had to overcome the language barrier).
So, you may want to try contacting Pacific Sun directly, explain the problem and see if they can help you. IMHO once the glitches are worked out the Pacific Sun Python is a helluva light fixture. LEDs are a relatively new reef technology and still evolving, so like anything else, there are bound to be technical issues.
