Ouch, ok nevermind then. Yeah I've heard of things going bad with the pellets too but alot of people have success. I guess it's a toss up right now until more research is done and they get it down to a science.

what were the results?
i guess i'm one of those that find the pellets work very well. you saw my tanks.....no algae, low phos, and livable trates. way less maintenance than gfo/carbon.

Today ends my 7th day of vodka dosing, tomorrow will increase the dosage up to 4.5ml for my 500 gallon total water volume.

Wow, I just read through your build. Very nice. I was wondering where did you get your large sump from. I have been looking for a new sump to replace the 90g DIY sump that I have.

The sump is made out of 2 pieces that were merged together. Jeff from Lifereef built it to spec for me.
