i just want to say thanks to mike (motortrendz) for selling me liverock for a great price out of his sump which was filled with coralline. and he had such awesome colored corals which it was so tempting but i just couldnt yet. def. a great person to deal with :)...

Thanks bro, it was nice to put a face to a name after so long. I'm glad you like the rock. They have been in my system for a few years and are well aged. And probably full of pods. I'm glad you liked all the corals. Only a select few from this site has actually seen the entire propagation system will all the colonies.. your welcome back any time and when your ready ill make you a sweet killer acro pack!

gotcha i thought i had to wait till the whole cycle was over thats what ive always done :eek: my last question how about skimmer bubble level where should it be on my skimmer at the top of the neck? its a reef octopus 2000 ssss internal

See if someone else chimes in I have always made sure ammonia was at zero then just did wc to get other levels in check.

There prob is not much to skim right no so hard to say. You need to wait till you have something to really skim and then tune it in.

Since you asked others to chime in......

ALWAYS wait for the bacteria to convert ammonia to nitrites and also nitrites to nitrates. When ammonia and nitrites have naturally dropped to zero, then you can do water changes to help lower nitrates.

i did a small water change anyways maybe like 3 n 1/2 gallons just because but im gonna make 10 gallons between today and tom. and start prepping for water change when the nitrite level is gone ;) thanks anthony and russ
