LEN,
Thanks for your comment, and it is quite different in coloration from its adult.

Matt,
I failed to find it out at the same harbor. Probably it could hot have survived the cold water.

Cirrhilabrus punctatus, young male, 8cm. It just was introduced to the tank. It is closely allied to temminckii, katherinae and balteatus.

Three species I recently added.

1 Paracheilinus cyaneus, male.

2 Cirrhilabrus punctatus, young male.

3 Cirrhilabrus species, male from southern Sulawesi (unnamed).

This is a 40-mm juvenile of C. species from Kenya.

It seems close to C. rubriventralis from Red Sea, Oman and Sri Lanka.

I am sure it is an undescribed one.

Here is a new comer from Indonesia.

Cirrhilabrus lunatus, male, 60mm. A probable dark phase of the species. Note the black fins.

Cirrhilabrus condei from Vanuatu, male, 7cm.

Cirrhilabrus condei from the Solomon Islands, male, 7cm. It is nearly identical to that from Papua New Guinea (type locality).

It has a broader red band on dorsal fin, while the Vanuatu specimen has an almost black dorsal fin except the posterior part.

The same male from the Solomons is now flashing (upper). The red band is outstanding. The lower is a displaying male from Vanuatu.

The golden coloration is very outstanding in this Cirrhilabrus condei from the Solomon Islands, male, 7cm. Its motion is too quick for me to take good shots.

Here is a new comer of Wetmorella, probably unnamed, from Sulawesi. The larger one is at least 52mm TL and the smaller about 45mm.

They arrived yesterday and they immediately fed on tiny foods this morning. They are slowly swimming around a rock near bottom, and rarely spread all the fins.

Compare these with a specimen shown in Kuiter's wrasse book (2002) on page 51 (bottom right)/ Kuiter&Debelius' World Atlas on page 578.

Looks like W. triocellata, but the anal fin ocellus is reduced or absent. Looks like there are some facial markings missing also. Neat!

Thanks Matt,

The fish on the left side on page 51 has just been named as new by Randall (yet to be published). The right fish would also be distinct (Randall's e-mail).

I got several new fishes and three of them are here.

1 Cirrhilabrus scottorum, male, 12cm
2 Chaetodon interruptus, 6cm
3 Labropsis alleni, 55mm

The Scotts' Fairy Wrasse is probably from Australia.

This butterflyfish is attractive and accepted dried foods well just after introduction.

Allen's Tubelips is a cleaner in young stage but may eat live corals in adult stage (??) Is this real ?

Oh, that is amazing. I wish I could keep flashers, but I know my fairies will beat them up. I should set up a new tank :)

Thank you, guys.

Here is a very unusual fish species probably from a deep water. The locality of capture is not known.

I suspect that it is Sirembo jerdoni but I am not sure. It is just 5 cm long and swims slowly at the bottom of the tank. I got it just 15 hours ago.

See the US Fish Base below.

This is a male of Paracheilinus angulatus, 75mm, from the Philippines (Angular Flasher Wrasse, Royal Flasher Wrasse). It has no filament on dorsal fin. All of doral, anal and caudal fins are pointed.

The lower fish is a male of Cirrhilabrus lubbocki, 60mm. They can do well together.

Nice photo again :) I can't ever seem to get my wrasses to play nice with one another. The biggest male always harasses the smaller males.

Thanks again for your response, LEN, and here is a shot of four different species (yesterday).

Cirrhilabrus rubrisquamis, juv. (upper right)
C. temminckii, female (center)
Paracheilinus angulatus, male (lower left)
and P. lineopunctatus, male (lower right)
