now all of a suden you are buying a 2 seater rwd car? I thought you said you wanted something good in bad weather. The 350z is a solid car, they are a blast to drive. Just not a daily driver, more of a weekend car. I hate the g35 coupe. I think its an old mans wanabe sports car plus its super ugly. STAY FAR AWAY FROM RX8 MAJOR PROBLEMS. my buddy had one and blew the apex seals twice in it. Total piece of ****. The mk5 GTI is actually a solid car. I much rather have that over the civic. They are actually Direct injection turbo and are awsome little cars to drive. They have very nice interiors and build quality as well. Reliabilty is another issue though.

Mine was a 1991. I had a lot of work done. Custom leather interior, a lot of engine and suspension work, body kit, etc..

I bought it from a rocket scientist down at Cape Canaveral I only had it for a few years, but I broke even when I sold her.

DSC_0192.jpg

I've worked on my old room-mates G35. Tight car to work on. I had to drop a whole under-car pan to get to the back of the motor.

My next Z will be vintage. 260Z, maybe a 69 fairlady. An S13 or S14 is also on my short list.

The 300zx was a sweet car back in the day. I love the v6 twin turbo. They can be so fast with upgraded turbos. I raced one a few years ago with 2 18gs and that thing hauled ass. They still look amazing when they are clean even today. Was yours NA?

i just want to put in my two words...

the rx-8...crap. gti crappier. civic HA. 350z is alright, but weather yeah right. sharp car but would i own one? no.

personally i own a 05 evo 8. do i like it? love it. i dont care if there is a foot of snow, everyone with the sport cars will be snowed in, and ill be the only one on the road driving like its sunny out. the evo 8 and 9 has the ability to change between tarmac, gravel or snow mode which adjusts the awd. and also to those who said all used evo's are beat the crap out of... i know alot of people that bought USED evos FROM DEALERSHIPS(key word) with no work done to them and they are perfectly fine. get the warrenty and whats there to worry about? i got mine used with 43000 miles. its got around 63000 on it now and its fine. i got mine for 22g about 2 years ago. today you can easily find one for less then 20g at dealerships. even the sti is a good choice. and...................back seats for your future children you spoken about before?????? that can easily carry a family around. i know someone with a sti with two kids and they travel everywhere in the sti. if they go camping or something the wife has an explorer they take. so personally, i would not take the evo out of your choice. personally, i think there is nothing nicer then a graphite gray evo with the black bbs rims and cb hood sitting in a driveway. and quick. yeah id say so..... well duhh.

now i dont know what else you are looking for if you REALLY want a two seater. but my opinion on a few car. evo love it. sti love it. mazda protege like it. auti tt, depends on the year, the new look nice, the old look to cylinder looking. honda s2000 garbage, honda in general garbage ( i mean they are ok cars but if your putting this in your aspect of a sport car...hell no, unless you want grandma passing you in her old town car.) cad. cts is nice. mustang is ok, not a big fan cause everyone with one thinks they are kings of the road and full of themselfs (no offence to anyone of you fellow mr's, im just saying kids driving around in there crapstangs think they are king) new dodge challenger awesome, i love the look, expecially in that light blue. the new chevy camaro nice but should NOT be a camaro. Hyundai genesis was a good idea for hyundai but i see too many girls driving them actually. its like the celicas. looked cool but ended up to be a girl car. BMW 3-series are nice. black it all out and depending on what you do to it can be nice. chrysler 300 ehh, i like the dodge charger better, the daytona series are nice. even nicer with the srt hood. infiniti g35 is nice, its a 350 just rear seats (barely) and i guess nicer they say. Lexus IS250 i actually think they did a nice job on. my friend use to have a IS350 and that thing was scary fast and would not expect it to be. the lincoln LS v8 was a damn nice car. the motor was great. Sub. WRX i feel the same with the evos and stis just a bit cheaper. and last but not least, why not a nice truck? ANY diesel is bad ass. cummins are amazing, powerstrokes are sick as well. if not then ford roush f150, dodge srt10, ect... sucks on gas alot, but what doesnt anymore? even the jeep grand cherokee srt8. thats personally the only car i would take over my evo. i am trying my best ot get one of them after my evo goes. fast as F***. realible, really sharp looking and will last forever.

like i said thats just my take. i do ALOT of research on cars before i buy them like others who posted on here before. this is all my opinion. im sure alot of you think im retarted or correct. dont care what you think. i have personally researched all of them because they were all ideas before i was going to buy my car, but i ended up taking the evo. hands down i think i made the correct choice. i hope you do as well and let us know what you get!

(sorry, i wanted to say my two words and realized thats alot more then 2 lol)

depending on your style. i won't be biased.

my options and suggestion with reason:

luxury and fast: audi (sorry but bmw doesn't get my vote nor does mercedes) or infiniti

so 2006-2007 audi a4 2.0T
2006 infiniti g35x

fast and mean:

2004-2005 evo VIII look fast drive fast. not as dependable line as subaru but would kill a scooby anyday of the week. best bang for buck for power
2005 subaru STI for reliability and look fast
domestic
2005 charger - prefer the srt10 but it's way over your budget. i've always liked the look. and laughed as i saw a charger being chased by two cops while i lived in virginia beach
i hate mustangs - known a lot of owners and deal with one at work with a 800+rwhp 2006 stang

2door cool and in your price tag
i don't like the 350z too much but can be bought cheap and fixed for cheap and nice
G35 coupe is nice but insurance is a beeetch
out of the two luxury sport G35 all the way

a bit out of your price range 2010 rx8 look nice not sure the specs but see one down the street and i'm impressed with the exterior change.

i drive an evo ix modded to 330awhp. i drive in the snow with really no issues. i have the fun and reliability of a good awd system. i've had NO problems but keep maintenance up to date at 51k. started at 33k about 2 years ago. btw, i have two kids and they love when i WOT and hear it go. not all drivers are the same. i've never been in an accident that i was awake for. i'll put details of that if requested....ha!

i hate it being a daily driver though especially in traffic, hate dealing with other drivers, but i drive past them if they annoy me and they know they can't pass me, and it only comes manual so don't know if you know how to drive stick.

i took a look back at more recent posts.

as mentioned, the 350z is alright but you'll probably move on from that sooner than you'd like. especially since we actually have winters here. the VCD is a bullcrap system. i had a g35 not sure if the 350 has it.

civics - won't comment
vw - to me maybe an R32 but you will never find me owning one. people are different
audi s4 old school - the new ones just kill the old ones and personally i would never be satisified cause of how amazing the 2009-2010 audis look but you could get easy power for cheap

my next choices -

listed average price
2005-2006 infiniti fx35 25k
2005-2006 infiniti m35x 25k
2009 audi a4 30k

^you can definitely bargain in these times.
i really want a mitsubishi concept RA - their pissing me off not releasing it. i'd request the option to change up the interior a bit though.

Thanks for the additional input everyone.

Just a few quick things: right now I'm not shopping for the 'future kids'. I'm shopping for the last selfish car purchase I'll make in a long while. :lol2:

Also, if you say you don't like a car, please give input as to why. Please elaborate. It's not going to hurt my feelings :lol2:

What do you want to do with the car? Auto X? Just straight up speed? Combination of the two? You said you want 4 doors, ample space, and multiple airbags. That puts out the s2000 (which I see as a "fun" car), and the rx8. That puts out any classic car dues to the airbags.

The civic and accords fit in what you listed, but I would not classify those as "fun" cars right off the lot.

A4's cover a lot of what you're looking for. You have a turbo'd 4 cyl and Quattro (I loved my TT). Plus you get luxury in there. The main con I see is going to be price.

I am still gonna push a Subaru Legacy GT. "Symmetrical" AWD, Turbo'd 2.5L with 250 HP from the factory, leather interior, power everything, multiple airbags, and it's a pretty reliable car.
here are a couple of listings to give you an idea

Fianlly Someone else who agrees on me that an EVO would be perfect for you. Im telling you to test drive one, you will not be dissapionted. The legacy gt is a very nice car as well. They have really nice interior.

EVO isn't a bad choice at all either. I forgot a few people recommended those. 4 doors, defi fun. I have never driven one. The main reason I didn't go EVO or STI vs. Legacy GT was the stealth factor. I am pushing about 280HP to the wheels and you would never know it. I have an exhaust, but that's it. When you are in an EVO or STI, people know you like to go fast...

the Evo and the Legacy GT are still over budget though.. The Evo's are too flashy for me. I don't want a car that most people will wonder if I'm on my way to the race track (or the set of 2 fast 2 furious 5, or whatever number they're on now :lol2:).. I'm not knocking anyone else who has one, just saying it's not for me.
