From Pratt. Looking at other results listed this seems very fast. I've never though of my connnection here as particularly fast. I guess I'm wrong.

just upgraded time warner service to roadrunner pro for an extra ten dollar per month

Verizon supposedly High Speed DSL $30 more per month, and this is what I get.This is on our family desk top.
call them and complain. there may be signal leakage or other issues. even the lowest dsl plan yield much higher download speed.
Your super high ping latency definitely show routing issues.

Calling computer geeks
I have been trying to speed up my wireless connection. I tried changing wireless channels and downloaded fios broadband optimizer for Mac. Minimal difference. This is a verizion router. Is it normal to have such a big difference in speeds from wired-wireless? The Speedtest.net is wired obviously

Rich, your speed is very fast.
If you think your computer is slow, check the computer itself first. The next thing to think about is getting a wireless access point that is set up for N ONLY, no ABG, just N. That will give you the fastest speed. Do not use G/N as it slows down to G speeds.
