The news is he tested positive for steroid use in 2003. The fact is that the court documents pertaining to the 2003 test are sealed, so the actual root of the story (to me) is one mans word against the other.
Now mind you I was never a Huge Arod Fan(Too Co%ky) but I have been a yankee fan as far back as Billy martin's second apperance as manager.
And even though I don't consider among My top ten players of all time I have to give the man credit and the benefit of doubt and he does play good. Good enough to be H.O.F material.

Your Opinion? and Please let's keep it clean.

It's sad, because a guy with his skills doesn't need steroids. Same with Barry Bonds. They had enough skills to be stars in MLB but felt the need to uses performance enhancing drugs. I am a die hard Yankee fan, but if you look at the size of A-Rod in 2003 I am not surprised. This is bad for baseball and especially A-rod. Everything he has done and will do is now tainted just like Bonds. Roger Maris is still the single season homerun champ in my opinion and Hank Aaron is the all time homerun champ.

Guys I hate to break it too you....but a great deal of profesional athletes have taken either steroids, GH, or injectable B12. It is an unfair advantage...and the un-enhanced individual does not stand a chance.

Who Cares? These people just go home and count their money.
If they are role models for your kids, you might want to think about what kind of role models they have:scratchch

Seriously, who cares? Baseball is a game, that is it. There should not be such high expectations of moral judgement from a bunch of people who most likely only have a high school education(in some states barely that). Most professions that require you to be an upstanding citizen (doctor, lawyer, accountant,teacher,etc...) are all highly educated people. These guys play a game and the fact that our government actually spends money having hearings and other nonsense is a joke. That money could be used for much more useful programs. Everyone needs to see them for what they are entertainment, in the end does it really matter who has the home run record?

Let me make something clear. I dont think education has any thing to do with this!!! Common Sense is Common Sense.
I only have a High school education "or Barely That" and have done pretty well!!
But my kids know that no matter who they look up to. Try and be better than them. And (yea i know and is not correct to start a sentence Sorry)
just because my son looks up to every metal guitar player there is. It just means that he hopes he can can PLAY like them some day and not BE like them some day.
Sorry to go off topic

At least he fessed up to it unlike Bonds who denied it even in court.Fans will lose a little respect for A-Rod now but will forget it when he wins a ring for the Yanks. It's a game he still is a great player and roids can't produce talent just strength. My 2 cents.

i didntsat in that statement chemchef.i didnt say they were his role model just he is passionate about baseball.and he is hearing all these great ball players like a rod ,bonds it will be in his mind one day lets say high school or college that these players did it to get an edge on the game.everyone who loved the game growing up looked up to a special player.i was a met fan i looked up to many 86,87 ballplayers.my role model was my greandfather.kids have small minds, especially at my sons age 12.and even worse at 17,18 when competion is tough and there is no sign your name and your in,its whoever is better is in.so people take these drugs to be the best.i know i moved to freehold when i was 13 to the age of 15 and all i mean all the football players i knew where juicing.im not just saying that to prove a point it is true.
