Belize

I just got back from diving in Belize. Was really amazing! I didnt even get to the the blue hole or the elbow. But I met a friendly shark who liked her head rubbed.

Vis was 100 feet at least. When I jumped in I could see the bottom which was 90 feet. Temp was 80+ degrees. Absolutely perfect. The way the reef is setup you can drift dive most of it. You can go down in between the walls where there is very little current. Im definately going back there. In fact looking at buying a small island there.

I did Dutch springs again over the summer only because my girl got certified...As for the suit I dive with a 8mm Henderson Farmer John and wear a skin under that but it wasnt as bad as you might expect actually very comfortable...most people on the boat were diving wet only a few dry suits onboard...the crew is great and lunch is free its a real good time...

Frank as you know the western Sound has pristine waters compared to NY harbor.
One of my favorite dive sites is around Execution light and Huckelberry Island behind it. It is loaded with large anemones, lobsters, and huge mantis shrimp about 7" long but you really need to dive at night to get those.
I have about 50 dives there and it is very easy diving with little current. The depth is under 30' and the visability (as long as you stay under 30") is usually about 3'.
