I went fishing last sunday. Was a beautiful day but we only caught 3 stripers and they were all shorts... i think you might have more luck this weekend or in another week or 2 when the waters get warmer, i think this weeks weather proved that that the warmer weather is here to stay (hopefully)
mostly rats coming up in the back bays....to cold for the beach yet.
The cows don't really start making an appearance until the middle of May.
They might show a little early this year due to the warm winter....Blues are all ready being caught in Southern NJ
Been some keepers caught on the north shore....but I believe these are our resident Winter holdovers.
Get your snagging gear out now!
Bunker are everywhere!
Get 'em now and save 'em for later......Because their mouths are still "soft" from the winter-clam bellies are the only thing the fish seem to want at the moment!
There are some out there if you put your time in!!!
I'm heading out to my summer place in Cutchogue, LI on Saturday to do my first fishing of the season. Normally, the creeks are full of schoolies at this time...however, I'm not too sure for this year, and I havent heard any reports yet. If I catch anything, I'll post. Take care, Eric
Jackson (rich) gives us MR'ers a sweet deal. he's out in sheepshead I think. last time I went (2 years ago) we did real well. I filled the freezer with striper. The roommates loved it.
