i miss the chats on RG

ok even the mods agree kids know everything that adults know.so why are we sheltering this site from the way it use to be.so far the youngest person i seen on this site is etompkins and im sure she knows every word we use here.and also if there are kids on this site all they have to do is hit a curse word on search and it pops up.the only reason i bring up the old school style is because everytime i go to RG no one is on and it has to be because of the change.part of the reason i became so interested in this hobby is mostly due to this site and alot had to do with RG.

I know you wont let your kids watch a porno nor would emily's parents . even thou they may or may not know what it is (just a disclaimer)

alright the fact is as all married couples know arguments happen between spouses and curse words come out and my mother inlaw speaks like a truck driver so my kids heard it all before.and as i recall my youth i was saying curse words before i even learned to ride a bike.i just didnt say them in front of my parents.and im sure everyone here did the same.our kids and everyone elses kids are smarter than we think.stop all this"our kids are innocent" and "those kids act like that because of tv and radio" and step into the 21st century.its not the 1950s where all this language was never used around kids and realize everything we say and do they have pretty much said and and saw it already.and we as parents instead of sheltering them should explain the things that are a part of everyday lives.plus i am so tired of people saying are kids cant hear of sexual discussions.why if it was not for that no one would be here.it is what we are put on this earth to do and we should not be ashamed of those things.my son who is 10 knows everything about it and i encourage him to ask me those questions beause i know he will hear them and i, as the parent will discuss it with him.and as for language most of the words are in the english dictionary.all this because 1 time a week at night someone uses a curse word.i think its absolutly ridiculous a web site that is a paid service"internet charge i mean" has to change its style beause of a curse word.just my .02 cents

I just wanted to make sure everyone knew that we are looking into alternatives that might make everyone (or at least more people) happy with the RG design.

As an FYI, the moderators have discussed this at length and the conversation continues to this day.

There are three things that we are working on:

Reef Graffiti in a large window on the homepage for people who like to browse the new posts and RG at the same time.

Reef Graffiti as a sidebar to whatever you browse on the site

Autorefresh of new posts and threads on the homepage

The first two options will be user selectable and only available if you have X number of posts or more.

i guess no one sees my point.i know I can do old school.i know I can chat on RG the point im making is not everyone knows how to.not everyone knows how to go old school.there is less activity in RG do to the chang.this is like the janet jackson affair.a couple of people at the way everyone in this country acts in the real world and now there is a change in our entertainment and pleasure.if you ask me its a little ridiculous that there are alot more adults on this site then kids under 12 and because of a couple of people saying " inappropriate things" they had to change the format.im not arguing or debating i just wish that this site can go back to the fun and exciting site that i began to really enjoy.i still love this site it is just a little different since the change is all.and to the mods i think you guys do a great job with keeping it civil in here and you should be applauded for doing a great job i said everything i could and i will be a member for a long time.

Here's what I don't get; The people who donate their time to help make the site the great site it is today pretty much all feel the same about the statement above. Yet, they all came out to defend a photshopped picture of men dress as women on the homepage. I didn't post in that thread because I didn't want to add fuel to the fire. Yeah, I got a kick and laughed at the picture; until I had to explain the picture to my three girls (ages 10,5&5). All of sudden I didn't find the picture amusing.

Make the RG password enabled and only accessible after certain length of membership or posts.

The point here is not to punish members by restricting RG, but having it on the homepage makes an immediate impression to new visitors.
when you first meet someone you don't act the way you normally do among people you've known for a while. the home page should present the site the best way possible all the time.
