He makes absolutely no sense. I was told to leave my fathers house at the age of 20. Did it all on my own. Didn't get one dime from my parents not even a house warming gift. It's all in your head because you made bad decisions and want to makes excuses so you say people had help.

Wht bad decision did I make? I left my house at 18 like most kids and payed rent ever since. Explain please how u are able to save for a house while paying rent/food/school etc... Unless u got to live for free somewhere. Both my parents work 80 hrs a week till this day and neither have anything close to a car let alone a house. Ur just blessed, u just don't realize it. And btw my rent didn't go up in 6 years and if it did. I would move. Simple.

Payed 1000 in rent in my apt. Put money away every week for 4 years and didnt buy clothes, sneakers got haircuts every 3 to 4 months and I didnt go out with friends had no cell phone and bought my groceries only when I saw they were on sale and couponed. I worked all overtime and did valet parking. If you want something bad enough you make it happen. And did that while my wife went to college and had a 1 year old

It's not called blessed it's called hard work and smart decisions.
You sound very angry at those of us who do own homes. How do you know how we went about getting those homes? My mortgage is $2600 a month including taxes. $300 a month for electric, 15 for gas $300 for oil. My wife and I both work. We both save where possible. It's not easy. But please don't come post on here whining about what you don't have or making up reasons you think some of us do. You're clueless really if you think the way you do is reality. I hear there is a pity party down the block, you're more welcome there.

Stargazer proved my point. Him and his WIFE got a house. So your definition of hard work is using your wife's $ to help pay for the mortgage? I rather make it on my own than take $$ from a woman. But I guess that why I rent a studio while 20 yr olds buy houses.

My god you are a piece of work! Take money? That's how you have to do it to live nowadays. Are you saying I'm less of a man because my wife works to help pay for things? She went to school for 8 years to get where she is and she works because she enjoys it. She enjoys being able to have the things we do. Don't tell me you still think the man of the house should work and come home to a hot dinner and a beer and put his feet up because he worked all day? Here is a clue, it's 2014. Not 1955. Here's a box of tissues for your issues.

So what ur saying is if it wasn't for your wife, you would be able to afford the $2600 mortgage? And you would be in the same boat I'm in? That's what I thought. I think the wife can help w the payments, only problem is what if u get divorced and u don't have her to help u pay anymore? Then what? Then u would wish u got a house that u can afford on your own. If that exists.so back to my original point. Most ppl can't afford a house ( unless they have long term reliable help). And if 50% of marriages fail, then I guess 50% of houses get foreclosed for that reason.

Here is what hard work got my wife and I. And by the way, I worked full time while SHE went to school. And I continue to help pay her $75K in student loans she has left. Instead of whining and *****ing try harder! Oh and I also have 2 kids, one who is autistic. That's $1200 a month for his services. But I don't whine about it ;)

Yes I could afford it if we got divorced. But after being together for 20 years and married for 15 I'm not going anywhere. We both know it wouldn't be better someplace else. Have a GREAT DAY!

1955, 2014, 3099 it doesn't matter. A man should be able to support himself and his family. And if your saying it doesn't bother u that u have to rely on your wife for money, your only lying to yourself. I'm not trying to be a ***** just saying how I feel about this issue.
