Great news, I beat the ticket.
71MPH in a 45MPH (triboro bridge) No points, $75 fine.

He meant he beat the speeding ticket- meaning no heavy fine and most importantly no points. The lawyers plea it down to a smaller violation.

When I had a lawyer for a speeding ticket for 73 in a 55 when I was 17 he got it knocked down to a failure to signal ticket. $50 and no points. I'd consider that beating the ticket as well.
