just alittle insight...if the officer wrote 76mph on the summons he had a radar gun and was trained to use it otherwise he would have wrote a speed imprudent or excessive speed summons... BTW 25mph+ over the posted speed limit can be considered reckless drivng which can result in an arrest with the vehicle impounded at the officers discretion.....with that being said as mentioned get a lawyer and more than likely it will be reduced or even possibly dismissed....how much and how many points the judge gives you will depend on your attitude in court and your driving record plus the attorney's fee....HTH good luck.

I think the dead horse has been beaten enough, especially by the people who have no clue as to what they are talking about. NYCDR Good luck in court.

I am a professional babysitter, I have worked in the Manhattan AAB system for 13 years. Get a lawyer go to court. That is the only advice I can give you.

AAB = Administrative Adjudication Bureau.

NYC Does not have a traffic court. They have an AAB.

Furthermore there are a number of police agencies that operate within the confines of the city, I can think of 23 off the top of my head, that are other than the NYPD.

I had a cop lie and say I had an open container in the car when he pulled me over for a 'no turn signal'.

In front of the judge he literally said he gave me a warning at the time for an open container and it was totally fabricated. Judge didnt care/believe me.

What cop gives you a warning for an open container but not a no turn signal.

Seems fishy.

The point of my post was to point out that its getting more and more difficult to win cases as cops are pressured to keep a good quota. So judges tend to help reach that as well based on the chart on the news report.

But based on my experience i attended a traffic court for speeding a while back and not for nothing but i was the last person to see the judge and decided to change my date after seeing about 13 other ppl found guilty... Not one not guilty. Makes you wonder...

Good luck my friend... your gonna need it.

Correct me if I am wrong. Aren't these judges somewhat related to the agency they work in? I think that's why their objectivity have been frequently questioned.

Once again all I can say is GL to the OP.
