Sorry Awilda, missed the question. She's due in the next week or 2---early April sometime.

I'll be flying there a couple of times after they're born to bond with them and once the choosing time comes, I'll already know which I bonded the most with. I have 2nd pick so I will only need to narrow it down to which 3 I like best and will take the one out of those I most connect with after the first pick gets theirs.

I hear ya on that one.

I had a boxer before Weico. Her life was also cut short due to malformed kidneys. She was from a deep european line which the UK has been having BIG time problems with kidney issues. We knew when she was a puppy(got her at 9 weeks) she would have a somewhat shortened life span and I always told myself as soon as her quality of life diminished noticeably no matter her age I'd put her down. They're too good of friends and as you pointed out too loyal and devoted to make suffer from being selfish.

I had to put Bailey down 4/4/09, she was only 6 1/2 and just now started feeling that it was ok to move on.

I learned a lot about the breed as well due to the health issues I faced with her. She was a rescue of sorts(needed a home so I took her) that was orignally purchased from a shake a paw so I went to a breeder this time to not have a chance of a puppy mill situation. I dont care that shake a paw here in hicksville told me they only deall with 6 breeders. If that was the case there wouldn't be a constant supply of boxers like they have there. She had also come down with horrible kennel cough rapidly at about 3 months old that she could hardly breathe and had to go to the emergency vet.

Was a rocky but wonderful road with her. Cost me A LOT around $7,500 in testing and treatment and everything throughout her life due to the kidneys but she was well worth EVERY PENNY!!

I don't cry much but I wept like a baby for a long time whenever I thought of her so I can relate how you feel about losing your white beauty.

Bailey was also the smartest dog I ever owned, people think because they are goofy and act silly they are dumb. Couldn't be farther from the truth.

It was pretty rough on me for a while. Still is actually. Think about it everyday. Felt like I lost a big piece of me when it happend. Luckily a older couple pulled over and gave me a blanket to pick him up with and bring him to the animal hospital where I had to make the decision to put him down. It was tough watching his life just vaporize if front of me. Luckily I was the last person he saw.. Didnt mean to jack your thread btw..

Don't sweat it

When do you get to pick up your little one?

Pups are due Early April. Gonna be early June but like I said earlier in the thread I'll be going there a couple of times after they're born and before they're 8 weeks to do some bonding and make the pick up where he/she will already know me. Can't wait
