Congrats on the retirement Jimmy. As a boxer owner myself, I would pass on this breeder. Did you see the pictures of the dog they are breeding? They are poor representation of what boxers should look like. Plus it looks like they breed to often and they don't health test. I hope you don't take it the wrong way. Just looking out for you.

You should check out boxerforums.org. There are a bunch of reputable breeders there that can assist you in your search.

Edit. Just read more. What freaking kind of reputable breeder takes credit cards? They are backyard breeders breeding just for money.

Thank you,

I have looked around a fair bit and a lot of the breeders I saw on line I didn't like that were considered reputable. They seemed way more like they were in it for the money to me than these folks seem.

Just my opinion, I didn't jump into this blind. If they were unreputable in my eyes they wouldn't encourage anyone that wants a pup from them to visit to see the entire setup before buying a pup. They want you to see the parents and the pup to make sure you have a true connection with the pup and if at anytime for any reason you change you're mind about them, they refund any money you gave them for the dog. Also if I ever come under hard times that I could no longer provide for the dog, one phone call to them and they'll come get her and she'll live out the rest of her days on their 44 acre home. I feel pretty comfortable with them.

Thanks for lookin out though.

Ok after carefully thinking it through and let me say right now, I still have nothing personal against the original breeder I was going to go with, nor will I ever say anything bad about her, I have upon reading CIA's advice as well as talking it through with my mom I've decided to go with a different breeder for my boxer.

I decided to go with dunnford boxers

www.dunnfordboxers.com

Out of all the other sites I looked at during my search I liked theres the best.

I had to fill out an in depth application and I'll know tomorrow or tuesday if they have approved me getting a pup through them after they've checked my other references(they called one within an hour of me filling the app out) as well as my vet who's info I had to give as well.

Sooo the puppies are due in April, which means I'll be bringing him/her home in June. I hated to change up the game plan but I had to do what felt REALLY right to me.

I like that they only breed once or twice a year.

So wish me luck I hope to hear good news from them in the next day or two.

Thanks Jarrett. Was a long time comin man, I got the first actual nights of restful sleep I've gotten in 10 years. I forgot what it felt like. We'll have to get together once he/she's of age for a dog play date. I only live 20 minutes from you.

And I concur bro. After having my last one it's the only breed I'll ever own.

Jimmy, you have to do what feels right to you!! Congrats on getting approved! Will this litter be of "Brindles"?

Thanks Awilda!!

I think so if you look at the site and then upcoming breeding it'll be out of Martinas litter she's a super dark reverse brindle and they mated her with a fawn. They only bred her because she was so dark it was hard to have her judged to win, so they bred her with a fawn to get lighter brindle pups. She had gotten points in shows, just would have taken a long time to get her her title.

I won't lie though, Im not picky on color, I fall in love with all boxers. I only care about health. If a little fawn is first to pull at the heart strings then a fawn it will be.

I just was going to get a brindle so he/she wasn't a constant reminder of Bailey, but they are all different and have their own quirks so I'm up for a fawn as well or even a white.

Just took a look at dam & sire! They both have beautiful coats. Impressed with sire's body tone.;)

You know Jimmy, funny thing is that I never liked the brindled dogs. That is until I found my son's dog for him. After watching Havic grow up, I gradually started liking the look. Now I love the brindle coats.lol

Thanks Awilda, yeah I only became a big fan of brindles when I got into my late teens. Until then as a kid they seemed like junkyard guard dog looks to me lol. But after meeting a bunch of brindled boxers and they were big mushes I've really been a fan since. I really like the reverse brindles like Martina the mama.

Yeah Dracos boxers where the sires for both litters came from have some beautiful boys.
