Blue and Orijen are my goto kibbles if I run out.

Euk and those breed specific foods are pretty funny but it's sad how people buy it. MickyD's should put body builders on their arches and those same fools will buy into that nonsense too. lol

Euk is one of the number one foods for cancer tool

I had 1 and only 1 accidental breeding and never bred anything before or after that... my nightmare dog broke out of his crate and scratched Cha-Cha's itch so to speak. And those puppies too by week 3-4 were already eating K-9 PuppyGold, Abady Granulated puppy formula and raw meats. Those pups were healthier than pups that I've seen at top breeders kennels. You could tell by their energy, bone structure, coat, the life they had in their eyes.

I know it's hard to take someone's word for it vs. a Vet or a Breeder and I don't blame anyone for being hesitant but if you do the research, I think you'll come to more or less the same conclusion that I did.

For the most part, the only people that feed better than I do are those that prepare fresh meals everyday for their dogs. I wish I had that time but I don't.

FYI...
Abady sounds expensive but it isn't if you by the largest boxes. When they're pups it's hard because you want to keep the food fresh and to do that, you have to go with the small boxes BUT once they're grown, you can buy a 48LB box of Abady High Stress and Competition. When I had 2 dogs totaling 120 pounds, it lasted me 3-3.5 months when fed with meat. 48Lbs goes for about $120 which comes out to $40/mo more or less so it's competivly priced with garbage dog food brands that people by thinking they're buying good stuff. 48Lbs goes a long way because it's highly concentrated in calories.

It was never a thought in my mind. I just wanted to give u an idea of how potent it was because a lot of people (that have 1 dog) stay away from it because they think it will only last them a month or so.

I used to have it down to such a science where it cost $1.75 per day per dog. The seameal @ 5lbs. lasts a ridiculously long time. They make a gargantuan size tub of K-9 PupoyGold that comes out to be much cheaper than buying 5lbs at a time. Pups go thru it so fast and u dont think its possible buy for 1 pup I think I'd go thru in about 2weeks. It's been a while since I used it, almost 5 years ago of so. U feed that until their 3-6months old. EDIT: I forgot to add....1-1.5 cups of raw meat as well.

I have friends that breed some of the best dogs around and we all use it too. U would have to see it in effect to truly appreciate it and once u see them and what they look like and act like, u keep buying more.

Yes, but I'm not going to crate them everytime I leave the house. If i'm going for a short ereand or 2 and they're sleeping together on their beds or the couch, I'll let them be. I never stressed crating heavily once my pets were housebroken and through the destructive stages

I agree 100%.

I dunno how u train your pups to go outside but I have a kind of odd little trick that I use to housebreak a dog if you're interested. It's rare that one of my pups would ever have an accident in the house.

I like it 'cause it helps the dog do well and stops us from ever getting frustrated when/if housebreaking goes on too long. So I just do what I do and there's no small stuff to sweat.

nice

yeah with being retired too, I'm not going to ever be gone from them for an 8 hour work day for at least a year and a half. I'll basically be crate training them more for them to love them as their own personal cave for when they just want to chille they'll like going in them, the doors will always be open

I know they say that you should never use the crate as punishment but one method that makes sense to me is this:

....If your dog is behaving then he has free reign of the house

....If he misbehaves then he is going to be penned up in the crate

All my dogs have been taught to love their crate and the longer that they stayed out as they got older and more trustworthy I tried to then incorporate the method of using it as punishment.

What I learned is that they still loved their crate and they used it all the time and the difference is that the door was always open when they behaved or locked with them in it when they misbehaved.

I still don't know why people say it shouldn't ever be used as punishment but when I was bad I was sent to my room (tho my parents never locked me in LOL). Especially for a dog that loves to be with it's master, they truly don't like being in their crate and I personally think that they understand that if they want to be roaming free that they will have to behave.

Any thoughts?

I'm a half way between guy.

I believe in penning them up only while I clean up the disaster zone they created so they have to watch me clean it up and listen to the almighty low pitched bad girl/boy and cant tuck tail and evacuate. It forces them to stay and face the music, then once cleaned up open the door right away, they're a little afraid to go by you and they stay because they feel safe in the crate- then after a bit I call them over and pet them and talk nicely so they know I'm not mad anymore and then all is right in the world for them.

LOL

I don't do that with the crate until they've been looking at it as a positive for sometime- that way even though I am it doesnt really feel like I'm punishing them with it at all. I will mmost likely hardly ever use the crates with these 2 except for it to be open for them to relax in due to the fact that they won't be left alone much. They're pretty much gonna go everywhere with me.

If I go away it'll be to a pet friendly hotel and vaca spot.

same here...... they have to love it first

if you have the stomach for it and if your nose is broken a great thing to feed all dogs is green tripe. Smells like it already came out of your dogs but there aren't too many things healthier than that. I usually bring it in this time of year when they can eat outside. It's extremely healthy for them becasue of the grass that is still in it that is a natural antioxidant. Plus, wild animals usually go for the guts if they have to grab a quick meal because something else may steal it.

So basically everything in the abdomen & chest is gets eaten first because they're richer in nutrients.

LOL...

the problem is that it is like "The Bundy Family Surprise Caserole"...... you never know what level of "foul" it is going to be. Sometimes it's mild and sometimes it is flatout beyond any level of comprehension because the more foul it is, the more they seem to scarf it down like it's Grandma's home cooking.

Food for thought........

If you get it in cans, be sure that the can is a perfect example of what a can should look like..... one time I had a can and it looked a little wierd to me so I figured I'd open it and see what was up.... and the moment that I sunk the can opener into it......BOOM!!! that crap (no pun intended) blew up all over me, my kitchen and my kitchen's ceiling. I can laugh about it now but friggen A..... that was a messed up moment. I just stood there for a few seconds in disbelief.
