Savager, sorry about the ticket. The points will transfer over to Jersey. But, if you have a NY license and got a ticket in NJ it wouldn't transfer over. Cops are always hiding in that spot after the bridge on both sides. Best thing to do is fight it and hope they reduce the fine to a no seat belt ticket.

I heard they hardly ever reduce the fine. And I am not planning to fight for it though. Anyway, how much points do I get? According to NJDMV, it like 2 points but I am not sure about it. I need to check with my insurance agent to see how much I will pay for my insurance after I get this points. Thanks guys.

Trust me there is no reducing. If you pleade not guilty on any violation that is the violation that they will go to trial on.

Fighting it might be worth the try.

It's 4 points.

if he's going to get the points anyway, and they won't lesson the fine, then why not try to fight it? could the outcome be worse than pleading guilty?

Maybe its time to invest in a valentine 1 radar, at least I think thats what theyre called, $500 and they call you to install upgrades at little or no cost. Make your money back in about one or two ticket and fees avoided.

I got an 85 in a 55 on a really tricky road that actually lowers the speed on a straight stretch of GSP, but thats another story

I asked for an unsafe driving (to the prosecutor) as I was told u get access to 2 of them wen u get ur license by a friend, and it worked! I paid almost double $$$ but I saved those 4 points from my license and at my age(20), that wouldve been death by default

I say screw the cop gettin pissed, ask just to ask, if he gets mad u'll never see him again...hopefully;)

My point exactly. I've never paid a ticket without going to court. It is extremely, EXTREMELY rare to be found guilty of the traffic violation you were initially summonsed for.......in upstate NY. I can't vouch for NYC, but I'd be pleading not guilty down there as well. Cops do have personal events that prevent them from attending traffic court at times too. My most recent incident was only in January. The officer didn't show, the judge said have a good night.

Fight the ticket! Not all cops are bad. And it helps if you had a buddy or relative who's in the force. U'll be amazaed at what a call can do.
'the good ol' boys' system works...

fight the ticket...
