Skimmer Thread

So after talking to Herman on how to adjust the skimmer,Its working better then great so far ,I had to put my hands in the tank ,Foam dropped for 3mins and back to skimming ,Hee is an update pic after 2hrs

Now thats what I am taking about!!! For now because your tank has not been skimmed in a while keep it at that setting for about two weeks. After that you can shut the airvalve to the 1 oclock position and lower the weir plate so that the water is .5"~1" from the level it is now. You will be skimming mudd! Im glad you like that skimmer.

Ronen Congrats! It's about time you got a real skimmer and got rid of that POS Tunze.
As for the construction of the DAS I would have to say it's on the crappy side but the pereformance is great. I don't care if it's made out of cardboard, if it performs like a Deltec and 1/2 the cost, that cool with me. I am still tweaking my BX-3, will post pics soon.

PS I still think the beckett would have kicked this things a$$ but my tank is running 5 degrees cooler now so I think it was a good trade off

thats the reason why i got rid og the ASM G6 300w it was insane compared to the 48w now my skimer uses not to mention works ALOT better

Well im very very happy with tis skimmer ,Here is one more update pic of the skimmate ,,1st pic is was taken a few hrs after puting in ,and the 2nd pic was taken after 8hrs of putting in the sump ,Note the skimmer is new i got it today at 12noon ,was installed at 1pm

Looks good Ronen. Since i never seen one in person, i have a question. That skimmer sits in some kind of prefilter enclosure? Or it's made like a box?

But it sure is skimming away. You might want to take it easy though. Too fast a nutrient drop can be just as bad for some corals.

Was thing the same hitng ,till i said ,now i can really feed my tank
I used to feed once a day ,Now ill move up to 2 times a day and see what happens

Have no clue on hw many gals it work for ,,no instruction sent with box ,no anything on the skimmer ,just the good word from Herman >Rich.(not yet) Jhale and Spykes ,so i went for it and very happy ,
So far i empty out one collection cup of skimmate from yesterday
