I'll share my experience with freshwater tanks
(Click on pics to enlarge)
It all started with a 10 gallon tank

Which became this

Heres another pic, with flash
Guppies gone wild!

Heres another tank which I put together out of stuff I had laying around

Heres a 29 gallon tank

Which became this...

But I got tired of the stem plants and re-did it all into this

And finally this

Heres a different 29 gallon tank

Which ended up like this (a bit of green water)

Fry,
As I said above, it tends to make the water dirty. If you have anything that roots in the substrate or moves plants around, it's going to be a problem. That's why I got rid of it.

I'm thinking of setting up a planted tank in a 45G cube, or 24G aquapod.
I want to make a new stand for it so it might be a little while before it's set up, in the meantime I wanted to bump the fresh water thread and see if anyone has new photos or links of pics they wanted to post of their planted tanks.

I have a heavily planted 65 gallon, I will take some photos of when I get a chance. Just a couple of small algae eaters so I can turn the CO2 WAY up (a PH in the high 5's). I just noticed either my Amano shrimp bred or I had an explosion of freshwater amphipods. I will try to take a picture of those also. I love my freshwater tank.

Oops, just left NYC(actually I am typing this in the destination airport) or I can take some pic of my 20G double tall. However, before I leave I do have some fear to see what it's like in two weeks as the couple new free fish I sheltered seems to have something very strange things attached to their bodies-cannot really tell what they are(wish they are not parasites). Took some pic of the fish this morning but not sure it it come out Ok though. Stay tuned.
