Why don't we just write a friendly email or call to Mr. Petland himself. He's on TV all the time associating his stores with the comfort of pets. :dead1:
I'll be more than glad to sign some sort of petition or heck, I'll write it when I get home.

good idea Froggie.

hey all. i have been good, just really busy, and my tanks are seeing the full effect of it. this shark made me so sad. his/her eyes looked so sad. honestly the tank looked to small to be a 75, coulda been since i was only looking at the front of it, but i was so pissed i snapped the pic and left. did not even get my fish food. need to make it out to fishtown soon i guess.

OK, just got home from work.
I was beginning to write the email, but realize that I should gather a lil' more information. I will call the petstore tomorrow and see what they have to say. Then I will proceed to write to the generic email account Petland offers on their website. From there, we will see if they have a department....a person even... that handles animal safety/care. I will document the entire thing and see how long it takes for them to actually do something about the issue.

If anyone is willing to help and find a better contact for this sort of thing w/ Petland, please let me know.

I really feel for the shark .But if you going to complain about the shark and the conditon they have it in.Put in a word for me about the fulval 404 they have the saltwater fish in,Not to metion all the nice fish that die in their hands
If youwant to get mad ,come to kingshwy petland ,where there could be more then 5 tangs 3" each in a 30 gal.Or a poor fish not even making it through acclimation ,I even asked them if they would give me the fish that look like they are not making it (come on who would buy a fish thats half dead)So i can try to save it ,they just put in the trash half dead ,, But no anwser fromt he mang.JMO about petDEADland ,sry but it is

its unjust and def. wrong... y waste so many beautiful fishs lives... lets put up a petition if this doesnt get resolved.. and we can somehow find a way to contact petland's corporate... as i work as an assistant manager for staples any customer has a problem they call corporate and then corporate fixes the problem to make the customer happy. maybe that wat we gotta do...

and the fluvals have to gooooooo......

this one petland had a 99% dead bubble coral with only 1 visable bubble the size of a bubble algae, i offer them $5 to take it off their hand, but they wouldn't sell. Next time i went it was on the bottom of the tank covered with sand and dead. Its a shame how they try to keep their livestock

well we can precede it with a shark kidnapping team that can drop in from the air vents.

naturally, their mail would have to be forwarded, in which case we can intercept the mail, deposit the check from the insurance and donate it to an animal friendly cause (or use it to compensate all our operatives).

why am i starting to feel like a terrorist organization when all i am trying to do is help a poor little shark? :scratchch

perhaps i've been watching too much "24" :banghead:

I know no one here knows or thinks your serious and I got chuckle but there are some who didnt see th humor or sarcasim.

It could createa real problem if God forbid something happened to the store, or one of it's employees an the authorites read this thread.

and I do agree they are assholes for keeping a shark in those conditions

Hey, what about contacting the New York Aquarium. I spoke to a marine biologist over the summer and said they will help stranded animals. I guess we cant say this shark is stranded persay, but that small a$$ tank is no where near ample space. I have her number somewhere in my room, and will be calling her regardless.

Jawwad, any luck in getting that number or connecting with the aquarium.
Jennie, do you remember the sale price on the shark?

We could consider doing a MR fund and raising enough money to purchase the fish and then donate it to the aquarium... I know I would be happy to donate.
