lolz ronen... yea i no thanks for the advice.. i would have no were to put everything in the 29 gallon so once everything is out ill clean it out and put the baffles silicone, freshwater run it and then swap everything out...
buy a new/used 29 gal ,,what can it cost you ,then sell the other one

Basement are uslly cold (the floor) being that you have a plastic sump :irked:

and your tank is at 80 ,that will cause it to start cracking .A crack= a Leak .A leak= water on the floor. water on the floor = tony in big trouble :sgrin:
Just want yu to keep that in mind ..
I really want to see your tank set up ..lol

What is your Alk/DkH? If your Alk is out of balance with your calcium it can cause it to precipitate out of solution even at lower levels. Removing it from your tank to mix it in another vessel will not change anything. Don't waste the water, salt or time.

Do some tests and lets figure out your problem.

ok tony, let me get the story straight... This is RO/DI water that you put in your tank and then add salt mix. So you left it for 2 days already and it still hasnt settled? Is that right?

Also, is your sump plugged into your system? Also, wasnt your skimmer adding bubbles to your tank? I'm saying give it 2 more days to settle down. Another thing is maybe to turn off the flow and let everything fall to the bottom and then syphon it out. :splitspin, just a suggestion though.

sounds like a good idea... what im a gonna do is syphon out the stuff on the bottom tonite... cut the flow... and clean out the sump.. that white powder stuff is on the bottom of the sump and some inside the tank....

thanks a bunch russ... i really appreciate your help... he is the master....

now off to the next problem micro bubbles from the skimmer... i have the gate valve mod.. should i put a filter bag were the water comes out.. would that help any... i will be swapping out the plastic container for a 29 gallon with glass baffels once the guys are out of the tank... what can or should i do in the meanwhile so this tank can be setup tom... thanks guys and a special thanks to russ for all the help...

Tony, you're welcome my friend. Glad to hear the heater cleared up your precipitation issue.

No worries about the micro bubbles for the fish either.

Don't put a filter sock on the discharge side of your skimmer. That will eventually effect the performance of your skimmer. Why you ask? lol. Because as the filter sock accumulates detritus and crap that collects in it, it will create additional backpressure in your skimmer. This will raise your water level in the skimmer causing you to have to continually adjust the gate valve on your skimmer. Once you set the gate you really want it to be a 'forget about it' piece of equipment.

Like Dean said, once you setup your 29 sump with baffles, you should have no microbubble problems.

Hope this helps,
Russ
