Do you have sand in the tank?
how much rock is in there also?
Is the mp20 over kill or will a mp10 work ok also?

It's a bare-bottom tank, but I really don't like the detritus that collects so I'm planning to use some reactor media as a substrate.

The shallow itself has about 35lbs of LR, but it's connected to a 30g XH planted tank and 20g sump/fuge; both have a DSB with about 70lbs of LR all altogether.

I chose the MP20 over the MP10 because with the MP20, you can turn the flow down if it's too much, upgrade to a MP40 with I ever upgrade the tank, and if the dry side drops, it doesn't break permanently like the MP10. I have the MP20 at full speed on reef crest.

Really nice! Can you take some pics of the planted tank? Also, I noticed some acans right up against the base of some sps corals. Any problems with this? Nice work on the elegance coral too, not an easy specimen to keep IMO.

holy crab, haha.. That's a very nice tank. Look very deceiving, since it seems like a much much bigger tank!! Does not look like a shallow 9" height there.. haha..

Great looking tank! One of the coolest I have seen. I dig the shallowness

How do you like your: Walking Dendro, Heteropsammia cochlea

I just picked up a 2nd, I think they are very cool.

The Heteropsammia got stung a few times, but recovers quickly. It has a huge mouth so I feed it a lot. I was thinking that the worm would die in a bare-bottom tank, but nope, the thing is still crawling everywhere! For me, the Heteropsammia doesn't mind higher lighting, but it does prefer lower flow for sure. Opens very well during the day time too.
