Well today was another productive day.....:splitspin The whole aluminum frame was finished, the wood skinning is complete, the vho retro assembly is in place and the laminant is on the whole cannopy minus the doors. As always I totally underestimated this project, however I am extremely happy with the outcome thus far. I have been experimenting with the par levels & Visual appearance of the two lamps and have narrowed it down to bolth of the 20k's. At this point I feel that I dont need to paint the inside a reflective color. My pars are already good enough to grow certain sps on my sand bed...:splitspin. I am still doing some more tests...so not sure about the final outcome...will post final decision. Here is some of todays progress.

Getting dark again....:splitspin

Starting to look like a canopy...

Tommorrow is another day....:splitspin

Well today I made some more headway with my tank. I started working on the base. Unfortunately, I will not be able to work on it any more this week.....:irked:. But I will be at Macna so I am excited about that. Hope to see some fellow Mr's in AC.....:splitspin In the meantime here are some pics of the progress.

The morning went well.....The above shows the left, right and middle sections of the base. The frame is a wood skin which will be fixed onto the steel frame(stand). The wood is Moisture resistant plywood in 3/4. It will get treated the same way as the canopy. The left and right areas will be large open areas for storage. The center opening is going to have a heavy duty drawer type system.

Making progress... Almost done with the fitting.

Done with the fitting. Perfect fit. Next step...bondo seems and screw heads....:splitspin
