Thank you all, the tank is 48x30x18, probably should have stated that earlier. My plans are for minimal rockwork, with lots of room for growth (accounting for past mistakes). I've had a tub of Marco and some nice shelf pieces curing since December so I'm hoping for a quick and easy cycle. I also added a ~1.5 inch sand bed last night. And I'm an SPS guy :)

What a nice setup. I can't wait to design and build something so nice and streamlined. This makes me laugh at what I have now, but that's what you get for building along the way.

That is a very sexy :flirt: looking setup. You should try and get the wiring from the lighting to run with alone the light Trees... just to clean up the look a bit... Can't wait to see it full of life.

Yeah sorry I havent updated, I have been really busy and only finding an hour or so a day to get anything done...which as you all know means I dont get anything done. Thanks for the comments everyone! I will post the equiptment once everything is more permanently set up tomorrow.
boardryder...dont do that to yourself! Trust me my first 5 tanks were much much less sleek looking. And in the end, no matter what the tank and equiptment looks like, its really all about the stuff INSIDE it anyway... I havent even posted a pic with anything alive yet...haha
Latino277: I am planning to do that, its really one of the best things about those overpriced lighttrees is being able to basically hide the cords. Wires reaaalllly bother me but I dont like ziptying things until I have everything in place. I am trying to figure out where to put all the electronics and such since I would prefer them to be out of the stand.

They are from bulkreefsupply and hold 1.05 gallons according to them. They work great and save a lot of space. Thanks for the comments :)

Awesome tank! Beautiful and clean setup.

Just a quick question: it looks like there is a "T" in the return line where part of the return flow is diverted to a set of valves (two of which are flow into a pair of Phosban reactors).

What return pump are you using? And how did you figure the pump size? That is, did you determine head loss + a certain flow amount for the phosbans?

Thanks, I just decided on an Ocean Runner 3500 because I like those pumps and didnt think I needed the 6500. There wasnt too much calculating in the plan really. I just figured I would get what I get after head loss and diverting to the reactors.

Fernando, yeah those jugs are great space savers under the stand. I cant believe I was using old water jugs for so long taking up soo much space.

Ming, the "bearing" on the wet side was never level and eventually broke through the plastic. I sent it in and it was back to me 100% fixed under warranty in 4 days. Good work by Icecap.

Thanks for the comments.

very nice...thanks for the pointing me in the right direction for the jugs. I ordered a couple. I have been looking for a good space saving 2-part jug for quite some time.

I'll probably order some as well, but I hate to think that I'm spending 20 ($10*2) bucks for just plastic jugs :-(

Blah, but I'll buy it anyway :)
