It's been a while since i updated this thread. A couple of things to note. I don't know what it is with me, but i just cannot keep greens. They simply lose their color and take on a faded color. The nice green cap i got from Mike is nowhere near what it used to look like. At this point i cannot rest until i conquer this demon. For some part, i was probably starving my tank for a while. Reason i say this is because everytime i go to another reefers house i notice that their rocks are not stripped clean of algea, so there must be plenty of food in there. I try very hard to keep them stripped of any algea, but i might have been making a mistake. So i have experimented with more frequent feedings using Rod's complete reef diet. It's great stuff and doesn't seem to be polluting the water. I feed when the fish wake up and before they hit the bed, trying to keep things in suspension for the corals. My skimmer has slowed down somewhat, so maybe there's not much to skim out i guess. It tends to skim more when i feed. That's why i have upped my feedings.

I am going to take on a going for broke approach. All the books i have read say that the corals must be fed. Since my corals seem to lighten up in my tank, i will go with the approach that the more food the better for their health. In the oceans they always receive a constant supply of zooplankton and this i will seek to duplicate. Rod's food is great because it includes things like oyster eggs, rotifers, etc. So when i do feed the fish, i really am feeding the corals as well. Ever since i have fed more, i can see that there has been some improvement in color, but there's still plenty more to go.

Any experienced members who would like to come and analyze my system are more than welcomed. I can use some suggestions.

I must add that the corals do grow, just not with the same color that i obtain them.

Anyways, here's the latest photo.
