As promised here are some recent pics. The tank is still in the algea bloom cycle. The fish and inverts are doing a good job on mowing it down, and so is the skimmer. The skimmate is almost jet black. I can see the corralline starting to take off on the rocks. It would be a matter of time before the algea is gone and the rocks are purple, so i hope. Will keep ya'll updated in the upcoming months.

Thanks Guys, i really enjoy the tank more now. Gives me the incentive to maintain a strict husbandry plan. Once i add more fish, it will liven up a bit more.

Cali, that was my beloved yellow cup that i fragged up. I had to put it back in. I am going to hold off on adding corals until i add the riskier fishies. If all goes well then i will stock more accordingly. So i guess this really isn't a FOWLR after all, but yeah it's pretty simple. The one sps that i want to try again is a green cap. I wasn't able to maintain the green color before, so i am curious to see what happens now.

Picking up more cleanups this weekend. Some Mexican turbos should have the glass cleaned in no time.

One thought that had crossed my mind was to epoxy the pvc and add sand to it. That would have blended it in more. But what the heck, the pvc doesn't bother me. In a few months it will be covered.

I will be putting the ozone back on, but only for a few hours of the day. I am still in limbo on the reactor, going to stick to manual b-ionic dosing for a few months to see the results.

Thanks.

Never really had a problem with the X-10's. They are on a dedicated circuit, therefore i know what's plugged in. The only thing that can give interference is electronic ballasts and the like. The only incident i had was when the electronic ballast on my fuge light went bad. After i replaced it all has been well. For me it's alot easier to be able to just plug it in anywhere on the circuit than having the hardwired ones where flexibility is limited.

Here's a few more pics. You can see that the skimmer is doing it's job. That's some potent stuff in there. For those of you who remember, i ditched the plate and went with the reversed cover.

I also included some pics so you can see the openness of the setup. If you see the RBTA's, you will notice that under it is like a huge cave. I can see a big difference in the fishies behavior, they feel so much more at home. Enjoy!

Rich, since i need sps in there, you have a monti cap i can try out? Nothing big.

You missed the boat man, i was selling some a few weeks back. This is momma and poppa. They are not for sale. Now if they decide to get their bubble on, then i'll have more for sale. They both have their own home.

Just a small update.

The spraybar didn't work out as i expected, so i am taking it off. I will keep the suspended eggcrate though. For some reason it was forcing the stuff up but it ended up settling on top of the rocks and anywhere else where there was no strong flow. I had put a mag 7 on it. A better solution would be to plumb say lockline with the flare nozzle attachment. But for now i am going to get myself some socks and clean them accordingly. I need to keep the crap off the sump. It's the only spot where it's accumulating. The overflow powerhead is doing it's job keeping it nice and clean.

Also today i had an accident. One of my anemones had wandered in the last two days. It was actually close to where it was originally when i left for work this morning. Upon my return i couldn't see it and when i looked at my tunze, there it was shredded up, but attached to the screen. I turned off the pumps and removed it. It might have happened recently because i didn't see any major damage to the tank. The only thing was that my skimmer stopped skimming, weird since i thought it might overflow. Tomorrow is water change day plus sump cleaning and i will also change the carbon out. I added a poly for precautionary measures.

I am waiting on my b-ionic doser. That seems to be the route i am heading. I somehow managed to overdose a bit although i was testing. Guess i added too many cups. Maybe that's why one of the anemones took off, i'll never know. My mag climbed pretty high, so i am working on correcting. By tomorrow's water change all should be back to normal. The doser will hopefully take care of the rest.

One thing i do want to do is add more live rock to the sump. I'll pick up some rocks from my local store and start adding it week by week so as to not upset the system.

Clean up crew is doing good, all corals are growing. My porcellin crab is molting like crazy, man he has grown. Fish are also fine. I am still debating my next fish, i am so confused. I need to plan carefully because i don't want the hassle of trying to catch it later on. One thing is for sure, the next fish will most likely dictate which way the tank will go. If i go with an angel then i will be limited to certain corals. I guess patience is priceless.

Rich,

I will be using the micron socks. I have an old one in the closet, but i need to order say a few new ones. That way i can change them and let them dry before replacing.

Not sure if it's worth running phosban or rowaphos at this time. Think it's worth it?
