i find the left one(mud snails) from temperate waters dies off slowly. they r also label by many as nass snails. they r found along most coast lines. ebay offers them. link
the one on the right is the type i like to get.

Not to derail (but again, not like anything's left ), but what are the benefits of these snails? I've seen ppl buy a boat load (i.e. 50, 50, 25) of these. Thanks ahead of time for the info.

they r suppose to be good detris eaters n sand stirers. basicly scavengers that like to hide in sand.

They turn over your sand bed and eat detrius and left over food in your tank.
