MH bulb, Please comment

One thing I have heard also is some of the bulbs from China (but not sure of the brand) are inconsistent when it comes to the same wattage and kelvin rating bulbs. You've already spent the money, but I'd like to know how if different bulbs of the same specifications will rate the same when Sanjay tests them. 
P.S. I'm curious as to how these will stack up against XMs. 8)

well..let's just see if they aren't junk first...then we'll go further.
i have to say, what little acros i have are doing well, except for the 2 i bleached beyond recognition
a might too high, or my bulbs are too low...or both 8O
the others, seem to show good growth and decent coloration.
that birds nest i just got might be getting white tips...i'm wondering if this is a good sign or the first sign of being scalded :?

What's up guy's and gal's. I bought two 150 watt 14K bulbs along with X. I have to say the bulbs are great. Nice color, it's what you would expect from 14 K. You can pay more for bulbs.... But my question is Why? I guess some people think, you get what you pay for...... but then again some people get ripped off because they don't do research. You can get good equipment for your tank and not end up paying top $$ if you do research and listen to people that stand by what they say. It's up to you. Happy Reefing

Happy ReefingI am using one XM 10K 250 watt in the middle and two 14K Blue Line 250 watt bulbs on each side. Tank is 150 gallon 6ft long, 29 inches high. Plus running 2 VHO super actinic's 72" long.
I am new to the hobby and would like to find out where to buy replacement bulbs cheaper.

Was Sanjay able to test these bulbs? Also, Trido mentioned a variance in bulb life based on Kelvin rating. Why is that? 6 months for a 20k and 12 months for a 10k seems like a big difference.
I have a 10k right now for 9 months, but have started getting a bunch of algae growing as late. I'm figuring the color is shifting more to red/yellow. It's an 150w AB aqualine.

No harrassing !!I did manage to finish testing the bulbs just in time before classes started again this week. Now I just need to find the time to write it up and send it Advanced Aquarist, and then it will be up to them to publish it.
I am hoping to finish this soon, so have a little more patience. I am working on it.

The 250 DE 10Ks put out a lot of PAR and probably have better life than the bluer lamps, so they might make a good frag tank light, or maybe useful for a large fuge. Most would probably want a lot of supplemental blue for a pleasing look over a display tank though...
