So I'm still holding out on the LEDs as far as tanks are concerned but I am SOLD on the TVs. It's so ridiculously clear and crisp that it makes the other HD TVs I've seen look like a crayon drawing hanging in a preschool. I watched "Oceans" in blu-ray last night and I'm pretty sure if I can play in a loop forever I'd never need a tank. The only downside is that some of the slightly older movies with special effects just look cheesey now.

Just watch out for the soap opera affect

I have the Samsung LED. It's amazing but you have to adjust the settings a bit from the showroom default to avoid the "soap opera look". I believe it has something to do with backlighting. In otherwords, the background is just as bright and clear as the foreground. I never realized how fake the sets looked on some of my favorite shows.

Made a few tweaks in the settings and it looks awesome.

mine prompted me to choose between "store display" and "home setup" when I first plugged it in. Yes, some of the sets just look obviously fake now lol.

Also, I got mine from bestbuy and they're doing a 3yr 0% financing on any home theatre purchase $899 and up. There's a monthly minimum of $10 and mine should run maybe $65 a month if I spread it evenly over the 3 yrs so it's not bad at all.

I have the 55 in. Samsung LED and all I get from the people that come over is "wow I thought my set was clear, this is amazing!" I am very happy with it needless to say.

The 120hz tvs aren't that bad compared to the 240hz. Since the signal is interpolated by the TV it tends to be more significant as the frequency increases. My samsung LED colors still don't look as sharp as my 50 inch Panasonic Plasma. The black Levels don't really come close. d

I wouldn't trade my panny plasma for any tv.
To me the LED's have whites that look very blue & I have not seen a model yet that can compare against a good plama's black level.
My tv has been so black, I couldnt even see it! LOL JMO
However TV pic quality is all about what the idividual likes. So Enjoy,,As I'm sure you will.
Little Tip. Go with a dimmer setting than stock. Try 50 or flat for all settings,, brightness, contrast, etc. 0 Sharpness. Set color temp. to warm. Noise reduction off.
You may like it even better:splitspin
If you have a THX setting. Try that also.

As per a dfriend, who is a manager for P.C. Richards, the problem with led tvs is just like the lights, as individual diodes die, you begin to lose the picture quality. He recomends going to lcd until the technology improves!

I have 2 LCD's (LG and Sharp) and 1 LED (Samsung) and I can tell you it will require ALOT of dead diodes before the picture quality on the LCD looks better.

Mine is about 1 1/2 years old and it still looks great.
