stage how is your car faster on the street then the track ? being what i call a true car buff and nothing against rice burner's, { owned a few } there is nothing like a v8 muscle car, the sound the vibration and the raw power of it, and the fastest ive had was a 90 lx with a motor swap from a 88 thunderbird turbo coupe that the motor was completely re-done laying 325 hp to th rear wheels, complete kenny brown track suspension, helped being from midwest with kenny browns, jegs, and others around me, plus being from a state of racing { indiana }car was quick, but nothing like the 79 z28 with a 67 vette 327 that was blue printed and balanced and completely worked with a demon carb ;) it sat you back in the seat till i let off the peddle. now being a little older then some and younger then others, i grew up in the midwest in a smaller town and us country bunkins either had hot rods or 4 wheel drive trucks and alot of scripts to muscle car mag, but then again out of the 67 cars and trucks ive had none of them would touch my 96 gsxr 1100 bored to a 1386 stretched, raked, air shift with juice, :)

+1 on why would it be faster on the street???? The track has rubber on it from all the tires making a better grip than the street. And you can also throw on slicks at the track, They don't work to great on the street trust me. And Stage isn't your car AWD, and not to put you down, but I have seen many of those cars within that HP you are running and no where near an 11. Maybe hitting a high 12. My buddies 350z with twin turbos running at almost 600 HP at the wheels barely runs that. Mu Cobra did hit those numbers but also had over 600 HP as well at the rear.

i agree but i also disagree. a nice v8 muscle sounds great and all but thats just a personal opinion because you may love the raw sound from a v8, and so do i, but i personally would rather hear the sound of a AMS intake slowly build then a AMS GT850R Turbo pick up and wind up under a evo hood and release out a hks bov. that to me makes chills more then a v8. dont get me wrong, who doesnt love a nice v8, but everyone is different and i absolutely love my simple 2.0 motor (the size of a f'in 1 gallon milk container) that can fly by any stang or import or ect...

mustangs arent fast cars to me, unless u got a gt 500 or a salen. and that same stang with a blower is another story and dont get me wrong i like the rice burners but you will never be able to compete with a built big block motor { btw i work at a honda dealership } and see rice burners built up all the time, one kid works with me has a evo fully built laying 642 hp at wheels but cant drive it daily. to me only thing rice burners have over muscle cars is handling and personally id rather have a car that handles phenomally and is quick over a super fast straight away car. why i built the stang the way i did,

well when you say "rice burners" do you consist of all imports or jap cars or just like civics and vw and ect.. because sorry to offend anyone but i cant stand kids that own honda cars or vw's that fat around thinking they are bas ass(nothing against honda in general seeing my dad has worked for honda for about 24 years lol) but i considder those the ricers. i dont put evos, sti's, 350z, g35, m3's, protege or any car that comes STOCK with at least close to the 300hp marker. those to me are just imports. but everyone is right and wrong with the track when it comes to it. alot of muscle cars could distroy any import out there, but there are few imports out there that makes muscles look like civics.

Yes it is true; many other cars need twice the amount of power to run those times but is this the beauty of awd. My car just hooks better on the street because at the track it is a bit to sticky and no play at all. To pull 1.5 60s on 500whp rwd car you need a solid rear end with huge slicks. Obviously, on the street its not going to hook anywhere close to that. And American cars handle like absolute garbage. My car is great all around, I can rip up on an autocross track and a drag strip. Also I have the luxury off all the Audi amenities since my car is full interior, leather seats, 6 disc Bose stereo, heat seats, power windows and doors. And like I said my car has OEM audi turbos and just a few bolt ons. If I put a built motor with gt28s, low 10s high 9s is possible.

curious where you guys are getting your hp test done and is it at the crank or the wheels ? and stage if i am correct the stage 3 if it has had a true stage 3 upgrade those turbo's aren't factory nor is getting 500 hp, not a audi person correct me i am wrong but u getting 500 hp with some bolt on parts doesnt sound correct and from googling a stage 3 audi isnt a factory car it has been completely upgrade at the stage 3 level

NYREEF, I agree with you and find a few flaws with Stages claims. First the car would hook up way better at a track. There is a reason for rumming with slicks and doing burnouts to make the tires sticky. So that part of the faster street run is BS. Secondly an AWD car would not have 100% of its power running to the rear. If Im correct your car has continous power to the front wheels at 25% of total power avaliable at all times. And to run 500 Hp on you motor with only bolt ons, I don't think so. The pistons and cams in your engine are not made for that. The compression would now be changed also. I don't know a lot about turbos, but I do know that your factory engine is not built or rated for that power. Did you do any tranny work at all?

..Bolt on wooden side panels.
..Enough room for 12 of your drinking buddies.

OK lets clear up some of the bs. NYreefnoob, you are partially correct that the turbos in my car (RS4 K04s) do not come on my car from the factory. I did state that my car has OEM audi turbos which means these are an OEM turbo found on the b5 RS4 which is only in germany and never made it to the states. So when I say OEM turbos this is what im reffering to. As you may know there are many other turbos bigger and better than the k04s such as gt28/25s the tial 650s, rs6 k04 hybris etc. All of those are not considered oem turbos. You can litterally walk into an audi parts department and order these turbos over the counter.

Now for the whp thing. Honestly I never dyno any of my cars so when i was reffering to the 480whp its just a ball park figure. On race gas most stage3 cars put around 450-500 to the wheels, but I go by traps speeds rather than dyno numbers. Obivously my car is making over 450whp since it is trapping 125+mph and weighs over 3000lbs. So sorry if I was confusing anyone.

Oh and one more thing, u got all these bolt ons...what do they do? Do u know y u do certain things or is it bc a blog told u to??

I think that is a bit out of line. I wrench on all my own cars in my garage. Chaning the turbos on a b5 s4 requires to pull the motor, which I can do in 2 hours now since I had done them many of times. I have been working on these cars for 3 years now. I do it all, timing belts, water pumps, wheel bearings, rear main seals, oil pan gaskets, head gaskets, clutch installs. Obivoulsy this is not like working on a 350 chevy which is a joke compared to an audi 2.7tt. But then again im an electrcial engineer, so i guess this should be baby talk for me right?
