yeah jimmy when i painted { use to do alot of dope boy cars } they would say i want it really wet put extra clear on it, it almost becomes glass like as far as becoming brittle, reason with heavy clear you need a temp controlled area to store the car. and dont use a clay bar, i havent seen those used in 15 yr's. most clay bar's are a heavier cut then 1000 grit sand paper. plus if you dont get the right one u will uck ur car up, and you wll still need to buff it, honda has a known issues with the clear milking and the wet sand will take alot of the milk appearance out of it, true sun fade you really cant do anything about because the base is under the clear and u cant sand the base without taking clear off and it still wouldnt matter because the pigment of the color is lost. honda also had issues with the clear being too thin and it basically starting to flake off, especially on the hood, roof top of fenders, qt'er's and trunk. been doing paint on and off for almost 20 yr's, don't paint anymore but do work in a bodyshop. have to find some pic's of some of the cars i have painted over the yr's, really was into doing ghost patterns, true pearls and anything as far from factory as possible
