doesnt this only apply to a single stage paint without clear coat?
No stage- there are up to 7 layers of clear coat over urethane paint- the paint thats used for the last 25 years+ since getting away from lacquer and enamel. When you wet sand the paint you use 1500 grit sandpaper and only go down into the top coat of the clear- once it has a nice flat white look to it with no spots(orange peel) or any imperfections- you use a good glazing and polishing system to buff it out then you flash wax it and the paint looks pretty much factory, UNLESS The clear is baked to where its peeled off the paint like you see sometimes but as long as the clears still intact you can wet sand and buff it no prob.
Sure I know a guy who will paint it any color for just $99.95
Call Earl.

this paint hasnt been around for almost 20 yr's, wet sanding depending on how bad the clear coat is depends on the grit used, when i did custom paint jobs i started with 1000 and went up to 2500, with 1500 and 2000 inbetween, and there is only 2 layers of clear on fzctory paint and most custom paint job only use 3 any more then that the car has to be store in a temp controlled room otherwise the clear will crack, you dont need that much clear, i use to put 4 coats because i would sand down 1 of the coatsdoesnt this only apply to a single stage paint without clear coat?
