eMail from the CIA

OK, We upgraded our G4 Cube to a Mac Mini for our home, Our Technician
Was to come and set it up for us update programs etc. Anyway I had to cancel because our mac display didn't work with the Mini so i told him set it up after a buy another display. He got Pissed anyway when i got the new mac running i had around 60 porno sites in my mailbox I think he sent them.
So i have to open them to have my eMail address removed from there list.
Today i received this eMail from the CIA?

we have logged your IP-address on more than 30 illegal Websites.

What gives you the right to monitor where i go.
1st they were sent to me and i have to open them to remove my email from there list.
BTW, aren't you the same agency who screwed up ant let our towers get hit by two jets.

No, it's not real. What makes a website illegal? Why would the CIA be interested in your web use? If the CIA wanted to "contact" you, they wouldn't send you email.

Do not use the "remove me from your list" option when you receive spam.

I think the "yours faithfully" is pretty funny though.

Our compliance officer told me today that the CEO of our securities investment company got something similar from the CIA the other day. We where think that ours may have been real because there is a list of individuals, countries and companies that you can't deal with. But I would think that if anything this would be an FBI matter and not the CIA if it was illgel within the USA.

yeah the fbi or cia would come in person. in 1998 my mom went to buy a new durango, about a week later, a guy in a suit knocked on our door, i answered and he asked for my mom saying he was with the fbi. my mom freaked, not knowing what she did. well, i guess what happened was someone at the dealership saw my uncle with her and thought he was some guy from america's most wanted (my uncle is white, the guy they wanted was hispanic). so i learned from there that they will contact you in person. whats to say it was real and they sent an email, and you took off. not exactly a good way to catch people

I agree. Sounds like a trojan or a spyware scheme. Don't click on anything. The majority of virus attacks occur on Microsoft PC machine so you have some protection but I would dump those emails immediately and run a virus scan (if you have one).

I woud never replied to any email that was spam. They now you this email they sent to is active and you would just get more spam..
